T.Hawk jab pressure is retarded. People do dumb stuff for the irrational fear of getting SPD’d. By purposefully not doing it you are going to force them to stay on the ground because if they try to jump they will get poked with jab. If they are to back dash, you can just Stand roundhouse them. I lost stand jab, it turns T.Hawk into balrog at close range. Lets to go frame data:
The close version is on top while far is on the bottom… You will notice that his versions of jab, most notably Close version, are equal, if not, better than Balrog! His Close stand jab just on frame data alone is better than balrogs! AND it does MORE damage, Active for less, less start up, and the advantage on block is better! The far version is arguable but its still a solid poke.
Balrog’s far st.lp is not even arguable. You can combo into sweep to get an untechable knockdown. This alone makes it better. Rog’s crouching jab is the best in the game but the nerf to his standing jab hurt him. This comparison is worthless though. So it’s whatever. Hawk’s standing jab is good. There’s really no question about that.
I was going to say something REALLY REALY raciest. I have a horrible mind anyway
I was in the lab before I went to be last night and seth was talking about pianoing inputs like DP to get the maximum usage of a move.
For those of you who watched the EVO panel he explained how a button functions as two inputs For a demonstrative purpose I will type out
DP MOTION
P (Hold)
DP Motion
(Release P)
In that situation, two DPs would come out if you time it right. You are masking the button press. Im curious, which I doubt if any of you do this. While I was in pre sleep I was rattling my head as to how this could be beneficial with Thawk. The only thing I could process if getting maximum usage out of a normal.
I also double tap my buttons stronger than Jab (Basiclly what I do if you look at my replays and wonder why I push so many buttons its because I plink stronger buttons all the time so my input for stand strong looks like this- > MP->LP ) so I am wondering if mabye I could try to get the maximum usage out of this? I dunno just food for thought.
Has anyone twittered or tweeted Ono or wtf ever it is the requested changes we would like to see for T hawk in the update? Not the people asking for a million stupid things. But the motion change for U2 and use KKK as to not overlap with everything. Is a good one IMO. That’s really the biggest thing I hate a the moment.
A DP buff would be nice, but I don’t see them giving him that. I try to think of things they might actually consider. No fantasy garbage that you know they would never do.
Anyway, I don’t twitter so just asking if anyone has since they said they were taking requests.
you guys really wanna a new u2 motion? for me its perfect specially with the new hitbox off this move that catches basically eveything that is airborne, the two half circle will be CHEAP in my opnion, two srk motion = stupid… anyway i cant imagine any other imput for this ultra, just pratice that shit on training mode 21989184 times like i did severall days and will become easy to land the U2 on reaction, i had problems with that ultra specially when im the right side of the screen, pratice pratice pratice… now i pull off easily
I found it easier for DP to auto correct and have it actually work when you do it from a crouch. Kinda like geif. You lower this stupid mexicans huge ass ironic body and you DP the stupid bitch who keeps jumping at you.
Sakura is one of the few characters who has really good positive frames. A way that I have recently been doing and its been working is I hold forward on a neutral jump and THEN hit stand strong
Pardon me if I should be asking this somewhere else, but has anyone found a consistently applicable use for cl.HK yet? I ha assumed it could catch neutral jumpers, but cl.MP is much better at that.
I call bullshit on this! this ultra input is waaaay to difficult to whip it out on reaction…
If you anticipate a jump and are already buffering it… maybe…
If they jump while your focused on the ground footsie game… or in some other scenario where you’re not even thinking about the utlra… no way in hell, I’m sorry, it’s just tooo Difficult, I might get it out ONCE in a while but no way in hell can I EVER be consistent with it…
Obviously… if quarter circle motions would make it, “broken” they shoudl tone down the damage or start up frame… I think it’s silly that their way of balancing a good ultra is to make it fuckign hard to do… common… And since all his moves use punches i feel that half the battle of using this fuckin character is against himself… in just doing what you want to do…
Dashing and then trying to ultra, spire or ANYTHING is just too stupid… RRAAAHAHHAHA I"M SO MAD!!!
I pride myself on my execution, but this ultra input is too much for me… If they’re gonna leave it as it’s dumb motion at least, like pumpkin bomber said, move it kicks
in training mode i’ve sat there and seen just how much slack they give you on it… You cannot miss forward or down forward ONCE!
Was playing tonight and tried to counter hit with an EX-CD…was a little late and it was blocked, so being low hp I just buffered a 360 in case he screwed up. Oddly though T.hawk landed immediately and into SPD.
I have been looking over these forums for an hour now and found nothing on this. I might have missed it (most likely did), but I have no clue what it was…any help on this?
This was discovered in pre-release and early on in the Arcades. It’s in here somewhere. But since this isn’t an AE only thread it’s probably in the middle.
I knew you could combo jumping jab into condor dive, but I didn’t know you could do that with a backward jumping jab. Kinda breaks the “No non-EX backward dive” rule >_>
