T.Hawk Laboratory

I’ve been practicing it. For almost a year. In AE i’m still having the same issues with it. Like I said, if you got it down fine, great. In my opinion, in the state it’s in now, it’s useless because of the input alone. I’d rather stick with U1 and work on ways to get within range to do it against good players who zone me and jump alot versus arguing with those on the boards who can do the U2 fine and those who can’t. I can do charge character ultras more often than I can pull off Raging Slash, which says a lot considering I’m crap with Bison, Dee Jay, Chun, etc.

Capcom may never fix it, and if it’s gone on this long without a change, then I assume they won’t. Just throwing in my 2 cents about it. U1 is worth the work considering the damage it deals out, but yeah, in a perfect world, Hawk players shouldn’t have this much difficulty pulling a move off. I understand practicing situations, but I’ve never had to go into training mode to work on an ultra *input *before. I love Hawk, but I shouldn’t have to do that. Period.

I posted a article about tick throws; Take a look

So it was said that the U1 range increase in the Frama Data on the SRK wiki is incorrect?

Will anyone fix it?

It would be great to get the new database of Hitboxes and Throw Ranges for AE so we can see for ourselves, but I guess that may have to wait until the Retail version comes out.

Yo- I did not know that Close Strong-> ANY CONDER SPIRE is a Counter Hit setup… YO UGGHHHHHHHHHHHH

Super is extended… Kinda retarded range. Has the range of Jab version making it sooo much better.

Played about a dozen matches online for the first time in a week or so, I’d say. Not pretty. I hit U2 most of the time i tried it (I still hate that they can sneak over it even though it looks like it should connect…whatever). oddly enough I whipped it out once out of frustration, but i screwed it up and landed an EX SPD instead.

Overally, not too great for me today. I seem to play SO MUCH BETTER offline than I do online. I think some of it is having to see BP/PP rankings right in front of me. Rankings are stupid, but they’ll sit there in the back of your mind…

Online play honestly makes me worse. It’ss nice to be a “top ranked” T.Hawk player but it hardly dosent matter anymore nor does it really mean anything… It makes no sense as to how the internet is afriad of T.Hawk he is Bottom 10 in AE but for some reason people are just affraid of him. It makes me rage SO HARD… And the worst part is when I win people bitch at me about him. “Your a fucking scrub with yo thawk” Its nuts. I know for a fact if I played another character they would not complain the the internet has some kind of biast toward T.Hawk and it drives me up a wall because the reason is because NO ONE PLAYS OUT nor uses T.Hawk. I want this character to be considered an actual character and not a joke. Its just so discouraging. Im sick and tired of people running it back with some “counter pick” and I body them. Im sick of getting new accounts on XBL because of salty mother fuckers giving me bad REP (I was avoid by 90% of XBL on my old account my current one is like 80%!) It just is so frustrating.
This is me raging really hard. I rarely lose on XBL when the minute I go into ranked it drives me nuts. Its so mentally frustrating and draining either if its a win or lose. I use ranked to find good players to endless but its just…wow

The reason why I am raging is because my REP on my account J0E LEWIS was high enough for me to get suspended agian. I am not spending another 60 dollars so I was on the phone with Microsoft for 4 hours LITERALLY so Im still a little edgy…These mother fuckers have to stop being so god damn salty when I fucking beat them GOD Thawk is a real character

Yeah, I found that out in Super lol. It’s a pretty nifty little gimmick.

Played some casuals tonight with a friend. God that was awful. Couldn’t get my footsies going at all. I play a LOT with him, so it doesn’t surprise me if he gets some wins, but I was pathetic. I haven’t played that poorly offline in ages. I was random ultra-ing, jumping like a moron, and poking like an idiot. It really was an embarassment. It got even worse when I decided to switch to Bison to ease the frustration, then to Ryu, then to Ken, then back to Hawk to get bodied by Cammy.

Then my friend said that I should switch to Cammy if I want to play footsies because, and I quote “She has really good footsies.” I nearly kicked him out.

i had a few great matches, mainly when I got pissed. But the frustration of the rest made those wins irrelevant.

I need to cool down.

The remedy for T.Hawk rage is all the way over to the bottom right.

Eh? Maybe I’m too tired. Are you telling me to choose random? Because then I just end up with T. Hawk. Yeah, on a good day, I’d bet all I have on me in a random select tournament, but bleh…

T.Hawks Ultra 2 can Punish T.Hawks Conder Spire. You even have time to focus-back dash Ultra 2.

More reason why that Ultra is broken in Mirror Match

how he combo the dp after the two mp links? omg i tried it all day and the dp come late and dont combo, the link is hard but i can pull off but not the dp, that need a supersonic cancel after the secondo mp?

Plink the Strongs

Link the 2 close MP and cancel the last one into DP. Far MP won’t cancel.

Start of the Day: 7338BP 3120PP
End of the Day: 6988BP 2313PP

Wins: 25 Loss: 6

Fuck ranked match. =/

Wow i must use this setup in a match. that counter poke suggestion is great too.

Want to talk ranked, bp, pp - create a thread fella. Also stop playing worse players - an 80% win record and you end up 800 points down!?

like Tamanapants said, stop playing “any” go with “more skilled”. Don’t be scared. :stuck_out_tongue:

Dieminion told me something that has really stuck with me and I kinda wanted to share it… SO I will

Dieminion and I played one game, ever about almost a year ago. It was a winners semi(I think?) match Honda vs. Hawk he bodied me 2-1. I asked him what I should do in that match up differently and what do I do in my playing that is incorrect. He said the following (EXACTLY)

"You lost because you let me play my game. When you play a character like that (T.Hawk), or any character really, you have to refuse to play their game.

Refuse to play their game.

^ This is probably the best tip I think someone could give to a “grappler” player.

So remember…Refuse to play your opponents game.

When you loss in a tournament or a ranked match, ask yourself, “Was I playing my game or my opponents?” I think that idea of self awareness can really help the way you look at T.hawk…

My outlook now (And since then) is this:

If I am playing against you, I will give you all the space you want…I don’t really care but, I am going to make sure you cannot play your game. I am going to force you to think and play MY GAME.

If you look at matches as you actively refusing the play your opponents game, it will help go in the right direction of playing.

I just recently learned that Crouch Tech intoConder Spire is a counter hit setup… =/

Has anyone in here toyed with the idea of OS’ing Raging Slash off safejumps? Seems like a very effective setup to me, but I simply can’t execute it. Anyone else give it a try/have any success?

Crouch tech into Condor Spire - like OS it? If so, how does that work when kicks have priority over punches…or are you saying do Spire immediately after a tech?
