Switch all your skill to another character

I know what ya mean.
I was facing a yun player with bison and I got him down to half damage and everything.
He does a random dive kick and of course it stuffs anything i tried to do and he got a free full super combo on me…

You know, I feel like some players just have such rewarding setups while others have high damage setups, but they’re either much more difficult to get done or they can easily be spammed out by the other player.

It makes me rage so much.

AMEN BROTHA.

You do all these combos and everything but they get ONE lucky hit which leads into high damage.
Ryu inspires me with this. dude got a lucky wake up dp into ultra…

I said to myself “Why…? why would I not block that!?”

Lol, I know how you feel. I’ve had many moments where I felt like, “OH MY GOD I SAW THAT COMING. WHY DIDNT I BLOCK THAT.” or the more famous. “OH MY GOD, HIS DP OVERWROTE MY EX?”

Man, you really are full of shit, and by shit I mean yourself. As for characters they are similar in the overall sense even if they have different moves. You speak as if your learning a new language each time when at most your just playing a different note on a keyboard. “You don’t chose the wand the wand chooses you.” Or some shit like that from Harry Potter, you play the way you play but the character only presents to what you may prefer in a play style, characters themselves never represent play style.

None really I loved viper so that’s who I picked from day 1 of vanilla. I usually casually pick up others that give/gave me a ridiculously hard time(just vega really) and just use what i know and basics and learn the characters to get to a decent level. You can’t be the best at everyone or in general, so just learn the characters you like.
I don’t quite get what you’re getting at.

I really enjoy the play styles of Gen’s and seth’s but then again i sometimes pick them for shits and giggles and play them with my own little twists, I lose but hey.

So if you mean what characters playstyle do we like that we don’t play Seth and gen I guess.

I’ll start by saying that I definitely agree about your second statement, your “Main” chooses you…That said, the first part of your statement contradicts the second half. If you behave a certain way, and certain playstyles benefit you, wouldn’t it not be unlike learning a new language to learn a character that behaves differently?

I play Gen and Fuerte equally, but they benefit from two wholly different playstyles, and if I were to play Fuerte like I play Gen…I would be playing him wrong, knowing the moves isn’t enough, it is understanding why they work, and when to use them that makes you…And that is something that must be learned, no matter how similar or different two characters may be.

Gen is a poke based character, benefiting greatly from spacing and footsies…counterpoking is his lifeblood. Fuerte on the other hand has terrible pokes, and relies entirely on mixup, and punishing options. The only thing I can think of that brings them together is their requirement to always be two steps ahead of their opponent, and to know how to play the player as opposed to the character. (I guess this could apply to many characters, but It just fit here.)

Edit: On topic, I put my time in to learn Elf and Gen both respectively…I wouldn’t want to learn any other characters, I would just like to get better, and play them on an even higher level.

i play ken

i would love to test my execution skills with viper…but my execution skills are at like a c- lol

Meh, the first statement is just saying the characters themselves are not similar to the point they are clones… but not different enough they are aliens either. You technically play the same, not as a character but as a person, of course there is some minimal differences on how you go about on doing it but it doesn’t make sense for a person to have a fixed way of playing because of a character.

I may tend to be rather poetic but yeah, that’s the gist of it.

Evolution, I think that you are probably a good guy and I don’t dislike you as a person in any way.

if i could switch i would go akuma or viper

Surprisingly a lot of people would like to play gen…Interesting really as he is not THAT hard once yoiu get over the two stance gimmick. There are a few combos in which you need to switch stances, but those are not very crucial at all really.

AWWW they kissed and made up

man, i make up so much i carry eye shadow in my purse

My [former] main is Balrog (who just isn’t fun anymore, especially with the nerfs), so I’ve been trying to switch to Yang and I’m horrible with him. His FADC combos are freaking difficult.

So yeah, Yang.

I went from Gen to Fei in vanilla, fei to makoto and finally landed on Guy in super. I love Guy, I would have his little ninja babies if I could, hes the only character I cant get bored off. Even though I lose far too much .

I would still play Gen but the transition to stick ruined me execution wise, I could try him again now that Im used to stick but…

but run/stop and elbow drops, mmmmmmm

So I guess I would like more Guy skill please, or if thats not allowed maybe Juri? I mean super high level Juri  that’d be nice.

I’ve been using Ken since forever. I can’t even imagine transferring to another character. I’ve only been playing real players since SSF4, but back in 92 I was still using Ken on SF2 on the SNES. Just had no competition back then so I never got any good at all. But I fell in love with the character at that point.

I alt with Oni and Yun though. Love Oni. Wish I could play him at a high level. He’s just awesome. I’m playing with Yun because I figured with all the whinging about him I might as well use him now before he gets nerfed with the next patch.

I main Guy, i’d transfer everything i’ve learned into Ibuki… the skill ceiling on Ibuki seems through the roof once you start getting into her trickier options… so damn godlike

main Yun but would love to use C.Viper but my execution isn’t good enough and i dont have the patience and skill to grind it out with her.

I play Sim, I wouldn’t wanna swap him for anyone but if I had to I’d switch the skills over to Yun or Fei, may as well get wins if I can’t have my main.
