The argument against polygamy has to do with the social sciences, not health issues. If a man or woman were allowed to have multiple spouses then it degrade the pool of available spouses. If there were a society of 100 people and the richest five men had ten wives each then that would leave fifty women for ninety-five men. It would also seriously complicate issues concerning divorce and property rights. If one of the wives buys something for the man then who is the owner of said property? If one of his other wives files for divorce then how is that property regarded? Is she entitled to half of the property of his other wives as well as his? I could go on and on but we can see where this is going.
The fact that incest has happened without health issues does not make it okay. The dangers would still be there even if they don’t happen every time. There are people who drive 100mph down the interstate and run stop signs. Most of the time, this doesn’t cause accidents or deaths but there are times when it does. This is why there are traffic laws in place. Are there instances of incest happening without any negative health effects occurring? Sure, but there are also many instances of it causing birth defects, negative genetic abnormalities, and a host of other heath issues. This is true in humans as well as other species. To allow it would also open the door for children to be forced into something that they can’t even comprehend by a parent or an older sibling. This is why it isn’t allowed.
I brought up slavery to give an example of an institution that was done in historical times. The fact that it was done in historical times doesn’t mean that it was or is okay. The fact that your glaring willful ignorance prevents you from seeing that doesn’t make it stupid.
Seriously, if you have all of this evidence to suggest that there’s nothing wrong with incest and polygamy because it was done throughout history then you really need to present your evidence to world governments because you must truly know something that thousands of doctors, scientists, and researchers must have missed. You could be extremely rich and famous for bringing things to our attention which all of these experts just didn’t address.
Anyway, I’m going to take the advice of The Damned and allow this to die. There’s no point in arguing with the kind of willful ignorance that you’ve displayed here nor is there a need for me to beat by head against the wall when it comes to someone who refuses to see the difference between two consenting adults and things such as polygamy and incest.

I won’t place it in every instance that made me LOL, but I would say It should appear once every 3.6 posts due to zatalcon’s involvement. If nothing else, I have been content for many days thanks to this ruling. It even brought Nas and GTC back from the shadows, so this thread has done a lot of good work.
