If you want answers, here you go.
First of all, sexual orientation only pertains to sexual attraction to gender. For example, sexual orientations are heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality, and possibly something a bit more obscure that I don’t know of yet. Everything you named are not considered sexual orientations, but despite this, I will still explain them.
Incest is primarily illegal because of two main reasons, firstly because of the fact that hetero incestual relationships have a tendency to produce children with recessive gene mutations, and therefore it is considered to be cruel to the potential children and detrimental to society. I don’t necessarily think that this should be a primarily prohibiting factor because we have tools to prevent these children from being born, however. Another big reason is that the power dynamics within a family often mean that an incestual relationship is not equally consensual and therefore is exploitative or groomed. This usually happens in situations where the father figure grooms the daughter into a relationship or a younger family member is forced into a relationship with an older family member. This often results in mental trauma and distress later on in life, and a primary reason why people feel that incestuous relationships should be regulated by the state.
Secondly, marriage is viewed by many to be a contract that two legally consenting adults enter into. A car cannot enter into this contract because it is a car. It can’t make decisions by itself. It is incredibly silly to want this to be a legally recognized marriage. The car is not human. It is a machine. You own it. Even if you did enter into this contract, it would technically be slavery. But it’s not. Because it’s a fucking car.
Continuing the theme from above, children cannot consent to sexual relationships with adults because of the power differential inherent in those relationships. Children cannot consent to many legal documents as well without a parental okay, and marriage is a legal document. The state and science has determined that pedophilic relationships, that is to say a sexual relationship between a prepubescent child and an adult human, are fundamentally detrimental to the victim of the relationship as a statistical fact, and that’s why this is not only not a valid marriageable relationship, but it is also harshly punished by the law.
And finally, bestiality once again comes back to the fact that an animal is not a human being, and therefore not capable of consent into a sexual relationship. There have been many arguments regarding human use of animals and how we don’t require consent for the other things that we do to them, but in many cases, we acknowledge them as our prey, and in doing so we recognize them as being lesser in power and mental faculty and therefore not able to enter into a legally consensual relationship.
If these groups demand the right to marry, I will staunchly oppose them on these grounds, excepting for the case of certain kinds of incestuous relationships where there can be no fundamental power differences, like situations where siblings were separated at birth and meet later on in life, barring them having children if the chances of mutation are too high.
This is why the “slippery slope” to the ‘degradation of marriage’ is not taken seriously by people. People who make decisions based on secular rationality can make a differentiation between modern marriage, a contract between two (at least now) consenting adults, and other relationships which do not fit that bill in most cases. Because religious people base their morality on a book that considers logically arbitrary behavior equally sinful, they do not or cannot make the distinction between homosexuality and having sex with goat, or hell, even make the distinction between watching pornography and molesting children. Trying to argue against this is futile because their mind cannot question their faith without being condemned by their god-figure, so most people would rather not engage into an argument with someone who cannot think rationally. This is often why you get dismissive replies when you ask these questions rather than get reasoned answers. People don’t want to waste their time.
I am just salty about gay people stealing rainbows. In all honesty rainbows are dope and everyone knows it. Kids now cant even rock rainbow gear without heads raising eyebrows. When I used to be out with my rainbow shirt people would think I am gay and invariably some funnyboy would get the wrong idea and I would be constatnly explaining myself all day. There are people who have had “sex” and “married” their cars, it was not banned (as the story goes) due to the fact that there is no violating of human rights. It is not against for any person to do what he wants with his possessions just as long as it doesn’t violate other laws. There is no need for a consent response as long as their is no refusal, there are people who have married their girlfriends/boyfriends when they are in a state of comma. There is no response their but they are still able to do that. So your talk is really guessed out.
