iirc yellow eyes never took johns life, there was another demon present and that’s who john made the deal with. John had summoned Yellow eyes but he specifically said he couldn’t make deals like that. Also you don’t make deals with reapers just demons like the cross roads demon, Dean was just talking to a reaper when all that was going down. The site that I watched all the old episodes is down right now so I can’t check my stuff to be 100% sure, but I do believe that is how it went down.
Back to last nights episode. Freaking great episode, I like how they are bringing Gordon back with a vengeance, dude is crazy as hell.
I recall John making the deal with Yellow Eyes, not another demon.
Although I’m not sure who John gave the colt to…since it never showed the person he handed it to.
But toward the end of Season 2…Yellow Eyes did have the Colt in his possesion, so it can be safe to say that John gave it straight to Yellow Eyes, and Yellow eyes may have done him in.
Yes you are correct, he did make a deal with the Yellow Eyes 
BUT he didn’t possess the reaper though.
But the Reaper had Yellow Eyes…

When she got possesed by the Demon, she had yellow eyes.
As for the crossroad Demon…I don’t know how that goes down.
I’m sure there’s still lots to explain regarding demon deals.
lol that episode was funny.
I like Gordon glad his back but that other dood was an odd ball, when he was beating sam it felt funny and not serious, could be because that episode kept switching from classic Naked Gun comedy to serious drama.

What ever happened to that black FBI guy that was after them? probably show up later in the series I guess.

Haven’t been in this thread in a while, but this show just keeps getting better. “I’m batman” had me dying.
This week’s episode should be interesting. This is turning out to be their strongest season, in my opinion.
