"Supernatural" on the CW - Thank you for the 15 seasons

Sword

Spoiler

How is it possible for Dean to be Michael’s vessel? Dean can’t even hear the angels talk, and every other vessel can.

Anyway, one thing I don’t like about this new turn for the series is that it just makes everything else that has ever appeared in the series?excluding the Trickster because that motherfucker will always be top tier?weak by comparison. Even Reapers aren’t shit anymore, after last season.

I do want to see Metatron, though. He has the coolest angel name.

Sword

Spoiler

Yeah I thought that was kind of BS. Through the last few seasons so much time has been spent on Sam being special and powerful and it felt like another way to dick Dean. Like you matter as a meat sack. GTFO

It feels to me more like Sam is being dicked over in the series, since it’s been all about Dean since season 3. Now it’s more about Dean than ever, especially if Sam truly no longer has his powers. I’m sure he’ll get something later this season to make up for all that, though (although I don’t think the Dean vs. Sam showdown will happen anymore).

Anyway…

Sword

Spoiler

It was only very briefly touched upon in the series, but there are different levels of angels. As far as I can tell, Zachariah and Castiel (and Uriel in this series) are just regular angels. Michael could very well be an archangel (even though they aren’t really supposed to care about the affairs of humans) or an even higher tier of angel. Maybe Dean can hear that tier of angels.

I also wonder, of course, about the plane incident and what happened with Castiel, but I guess we’ll have to wait for more hints as the season progresses.

It seemed to me that Cas eluded to the big man intervening directly. Although I may have misunderstood what he meant by “what you think angels did that?”

i am rather intrigued though.

Spoiler

Lets just hope they dont use God interfearing as a cure all or a cop out. Also and my Catholic is really rusty I think Michael is an archangel along with Gabriel.

Yeah, I was thinking that, too, but if He intervened, He could easily do a lot more than just that. I also wonder about that weapon that can kill angels. What the hell is that, and can the Colt also do it?

EDIT: Michael is supposed to be an archangel, but so is Uriel (and in this series, he obviously isn’t one). Archangels aren’t really supposed to care about humans, though.

EDIT 2: Apparently some Protestants believe that Michael is the only archangel. This can’t be the case for this series, though, since there’s that random archangel that hangs around Chuck. I doubt that’s Michael.

If it isn’t Christopher Walken playing Gabriel i will be very very sad.(assuming he shows up in the series)

Isn’t that weapon that Cas used standard for them? Uriel had one so I assume everyone of those dudes carries one or maybe it’s just the higher levels.

I doubt the colt would be able to kill an angel seeing how a human made it but, who knows. It’d be tight if it could and they actually were able to retrieve the gun some how.

So we are going with Sword I see…

[details=Spoiler] It seems like there is mainly just a certain order Angels have to go through in order to possess someone. Cass said before in that one episode he could only jump into the bodies of those of his current hosts bloodline.

Also throw in what happened with Lucifer and Nick, pretty much apparently Nick was the only (or destined) meat suit for Lucifer and was sought out and coxed into accepting it, rather then the first bum or rich dude in the area. So it could be that either because of his bloodline (Alastair did say that they had expected it to be John who broke the first seal) or because he broke the first one, he became the vessel for Micheal. Either way, angels aren’t like demons who can just grab a person, they have to be let in by the right ones. Probably so they can have full access to their insane amount of power.

[/details]

What i don’ get is

possesion

Spoiler

How did the demon possesed Bobby? i mean he got that anti-demon tattoo no?

Sword

Spoiler

Biblically Michael is an archangel and his sword is what defeated Satan when he was cast out of Heaven. You can figure out the metaphor that was used for Dean now in the last episode. The “El” in Micahel means “who is like God” and Michael is the field general/commander of God’s Army. Uriel is also an archangel. I don’t know about Zachariah and Castiel.

:u: Yes, I know, but it still doesn’t explain the loophole I brought up.

Michael’s name can imply two different things:

  1. He is the one closest to being like God (Michael, “Who is like God”)
  2. No one is like God?not even him (“Who is like God?”)

I don’t think Castiel is a real angel. I don’t know about Zachariah.

Next week is gonna rock, I’ve been wondering where some of the boys old friends went too

I always thought it implied #1 and not even anything like #2. #2 is the entire reason why Satan was cast out of Heaven in the first place. What loophole are you talking about anyways?

read a little about Lucifer. So he got kicked out for not bowing down to Adam. Would’ve been Uriel’s best friend if he didn’t get wasted.

Loophole

[details=Spoiler]The loophole I’m talking about is that Dean can’t hear angelic voices, when every other vessel can. It would also make perfect sense that they would be able to hear the voices, as they have to be able to agree to their respective angels taking their bodies.

Of course, a possible solution is that vessels can only hear the voices of the angels allowed to inhabit their bodies. In this case, then, Dean wouldn’t be able to hear anyone but Michael himself, which could explain why he couldn’t hear Castiel’s voice last season.[/details]

But yeah, there are two interpretations of Michael’s name (and probably more, since he is the only named archangel accepted by all Judeo-Christian faiths).

Anyway, I wouldn’t be surprised if Sam ends up being the vessel for, like, Metatron or Gabriel or, heck, even Christ.

Uriel was wasted, imo. That actor was BA, but that’s not what I imagined Uriel (arguably an arch angel) to be like. Cas, a mere cherub, has been much more awesome, and is my favorite supporting character. He has been since they introduced him, though.

Castiel is a cherub? I thought the cherubim are some of the toppest tier angels (under seraphim, which fall directly under God Himself).

They’re important, but I thought their big job was guarding some tree. I’m just going from memory, though.

Yeah, which is why they don’t care about the affairs of the world or of humans. Likewise, the Seraphim guard God’s throne in heaven, so they wouldn’t care about any of that stuff, either.
