Us three. James, Joe, and James. Thanks for the kind words. Still lots of cool wiring to be done.
Well the J&J kinda threw me off… always thought it was two, It should be Joe&JJ! LOL. But your welcome, thank you guys for the help too ^ ^
haha actually its James,James and then Joe… I’m the new guy… but J,J&J doesnt sound right…
Haha! true poor Joe! also your drunken advice was the best, thanks a ton again. And sorry for the trolling lmaoo!
no worries… post your work its easier to get help when you have a pic to critique…
gummo is the king of speed wiring… I dont think theres another modder that has more mods under their belt… but as for what he does compared to what we do there is a big time diffrence… the style you ask about takes time… no way around it… so really depends on what you want the internals to look like in the mod…
I don’t think it’s mean at all. If I were a stick builder, and someone built a stick in the same fashion as one of mine I would be flattered that someone liked my design enough to take a shot at it.
If I were to buy another custom case, I would absolutely go back through NiteWalker, even if the design were something similar to another builder. He was responsive to what I wanted to do, I’ve shopped around ideas to other builders and gotten a response that equates to “you buy the style I make or you go somewhere else.” If I want a custom stick I’m going to go through someone I feel comfortable working with.
As far as wiring, there are a lot of people who don’t want to send out their sticks across the country, and would rather stay local. My wiring is far from pretty most of the time (it’s well routed, and functional, but not art), but if it were and someone asked another moder to try to wire the same way as me I would welcome it. You’ve done something right if people are asking for work similar to yours.
Because NiteWalker says “yes” to any style the customer wants.
I’ve read his responses to customers.
Laugh.
But I would never ask someone to copy a b15sdm or VOLTECH or whoever.
Did you see the crazy stuff went down with b15sdm and souji5?
Innovate, not imitate; right?
@Joe I have a paint job, and some internal work to do for this customer. Ill try my hand at clean wiring and stuff I won’t call it super just yet haha! Then maybe I can get some critiques and see what I need work on.
@Paper I agree with you completely lol!
@Jd though I believe those are some of the greatest case builders around I’m sure most newbies and even somewhat experiences builders cant output works like theirs easily.
I’ve seen requests for copies of b15sdm, Byrdo, ecKsniNe, the cleaner (MKP Customs).
Requests for Jinxz (Shadaloo.eu), Project GiantSword, satek (QCF Gaming).
Someone even asked NiteWalker to make a Case that NiteWalker himself made.
The Customer did not know.
Laugh.
Seeing some of the wiring jobs the fine folks at Tech Talk have pulled off just makes me sad. Like, I really wish I had wire organization half as good as some of you folks.
Not true. El Guapo was all 30 gauge kynar (which was a blessing and a curse!)
Oh man my 1st mod was using 30 gauge wire to the via points on a wireless 360 pad…not fun (or a good 1st mod).
I remember having to go back and redo it because of the wire breaking since it’s solid core.
A little late to the discussion here, but I’m pretty sure that’s not what JDM is going at.
For example, hypthetically speaking, let’s say you make beautiful cases. That’s good.
If I want a case for myself, and I try to replicate it. That’s good for you, because it’s a compliment that your stuff is really cool.
Same hypothetical situation: you make beautiful cases. That’s good.
A customer wants a case like yours, but asks ME to make one for him. That’s BAD for you, because a) I’m just building the case as per the customer specs, so my opinion on whether or not the case is good is irrelevant; and b) the customer wanted a case like yours, but is not paying YOU to get one, and instead is going to someone else for an “imitation” (whether or not the “imitation” is a good one or not is a whole separate story).
Re-brand time… J3 (cubed)
I thought it was a trade secret that only a select few were graced with the ability to learn like with many other delicate crafts.
