Tourney will start at 2pm…this will allow more time for the out towners to get settled in =D Regarding the possibility of a stream, I’ve been informed by Valle that the tourney will not have access to the Wifi as it will solely be used for LevelUp streaming. So the only other options I can think of are:
someone bringing a usb wireless card (with a great connection) or
the ghetto method…leech off an unsecured signal in the area (since there aren’t any homes located near the area…this may not work).
Tourney is about a month away…feel free to get all your old SF2 friends to un-retire for the weekend ;D
If you can’t stream it, just be sure someone brings some sort of video capture or has a good camcorder + tripod and upload it when the event is finished.
We have a webpage up for the tournament where you can see all the information DGV has posted here, see who is attending the tournament and you can also add your name to the list, if you are planning to go.
Like DGV said, spread the word to your old SF2 friends or to any new schoolers who are up to the challenge! :karate:
streetfighterdojo.com (my website: the ST/SF4 video library website) is contributing $80 toward the Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo tournament prize payout.
This money will specifically be distributed to provide $10 each to players placing 9th - 16th place. This will extend the payouts from Top 8 players to Top 16 players, and will hopefully provide an added incentive for players on the fence to come join the Super Turbo action.
Here’s how the Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo tournament’s payout schedule currently breaks down:
$5 venue fee to the venue (not part of prize payout)
$20 registration fee toward the prize pool (part of prize payout)
streetfigherdojo.com is happy to support the outstanding efforts of Revelations, Tournament Legacy, Alex Valle, and the Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo tournament community. Hopefully more of you out there will take this opportunity to join the sponsor train, throw some coins into the community machine, and help support your fellow World Warriors.
So dig out that Gi (or Chinese Dress: we don’t judge), step up to the classic arcade challenge, and join us for some old school Super Turbo beat downs:
“You must defeat Shen Long to stand a chance!”
