Hey Unessential, I can give you a lift from York to HW on wednesday. PM me and we can work out the details. I can’t promise a return trip so you’ll have to figure out a way home tho.

Next month it will be back at A&C Games! April 25th
I will be there!
Nice video, it makes me happy seeing you trying to develop a scene in your area.
How is the quality of your TV? It looks pretty bad in the video, but I’m assuming that’s just the camera?
The CRTs are provided by the venue’s we play at. and yeah. they’re pretty crappy but not as bad as the video makes it seem. There’s a blue hue and we have no idea how to change the colour settings to make it proper there’s no remote, and … menus using tv panels are awkward…
The camera’s not bad, but it’s just the lighting and angle makes the TV look worse than it is…
It’s not too bad, after a few matches you get used to it and the monitor looks (pretty) normal. Except sometimes certain colours look the same.
Hmm. After reading
I have Dreamcast RJ-45 cables now (and I always had a total control2 PSX-> DC converter) , and SSF2X for dreamcast. A&C I’m sure has a console…
I also have SNES RJ-45s as well as SSF2 and HF cartidges at home…
Maybe in a few months when we have more people we can have more SF2 setups… I don’t think A&C has enough CRTs though…
edit: The real question I wanted to ask, but I lost track of when making the post was.
How would you feel running different versions of ST side by side? (DC, CPS2)
Obviously it wouldn’t apply if I brought SSF2/HF on snes…
I think those who want to play ST just want to play so more setups wouldn’t hurt. As for HF, well I can bring my xbox setup if you want to run that (or if you want to have another ST setup, puzzle fighter or whatever old skool arcade goodness you want to run), or why not invest in an HF board as well if you want to play that? They’re easier to find than ST and probably cheaper too.
As for SSF2, running it on SNES is actually not a bad solution (it’s faster than arcade version for sure), but who has 2 SF-style arcade sticks for SNES?
Lots of people have sticks with RJ-45 ports. so as long as people bring sticks with RJ45 ports. I can bring cables to make them work with the snes. I recall last time at A&C we needed an extra stick because the one A&C provided didn’t work, and nobody could press start on brett’s stick. So I found a random stick with an RJ 45 port, asked if I could borrow it… (the guy was like,I don’t have an extra cord and it’s not a USB… , guess he didn’t know I had my own cable, and wasn’t using it for an xbox) I’m like, it’s an RJ 45. I have my own cable. Same deal with the snes and dreamcast.
SSF2 on the snes is faster than arcade? had no idea. still feels hella slow to me… My preference is to have another ST setup. (or puzzle fighter!). But I’ll bring HF carts or SSF2 carts if other people prefer…
As for why not buy another HF board…? I might in the future. but it would still only leave 1 supergun setup simultaneously, because I’d have a board. but no supergun (the conversion/connections to TV/controllers). So that’s why I suggested SNES or another console rather than another JAMMA compatible board.
and again, I’m just feeling it out… I don’t think we have enough people for more than one setup… yet…
well, actually… if everyone shows up for the entire night, then maybe that would justify a second ST setup…
When UofT starts their casuals again in September I may start bringing my setup there on Saturdays as well as A&C. Saturdays work a bit better for me, so we should be able to have it more often.
Turbo2Tone is coming home from Japan on April 30th. I’d like to plan something at my house (at least two stations with ST).

Yeah, my final exams finish after the week of the 16th. So I can certainly come down lots then. What are you going to use for the second ST station? HDR?
We’ll talk next time at A&C.
Great shit Unessential, keep it up man. When I get back, me and elSalvadoreno will start coming back to TO more often again for ST. Also don’t worry about getting the CVS2 players back into ST, most of them sucked anyways. If you could somehow, get Gerjay back into it he was good. Kevin, you should convince roger haha.
This is my idea and my cave allows 8 people maximum:
-The big TV will be used for your setup
-The small TV will be ST on DC (I have one Innovation converter and my TE has DC however the port is extremely sensitive so it’d help if we had another DC converter)
-I have an empty room which I will move in another CRT and that will be anything PS2 (HSF2AE, 3S, CvS2, etc…)
-I have HDR but we would use PS3 as my 360 will not work unless connected online unless someone else brings their 360
ps. Everytime I do these casuals, I ensure no new games will be played (SSF4AE2012, UMvC3, SFxT, etc…)
I think I have a Total control 2 PSX->DC converter somewhere. It works. but I’m not sure if Total control 2 is lag free. I got it before I was into fighting games seriously.
I did just get 2 dreamcast rj-45 cables, so if people bring sticks with RJ45 jacks they can use those.
about your 360 not working online… you realize microsoft has a licence transfer so you can match it to your current console… right?
I have a MAS stick too that has DC plugs. Once I get back, I bring it too.
I can bring a PS2 with Hyper AE/Alpha/Darkstalkers and my XBOX setup. If ppl want to play CVAss2 someone is gonna have to bring a PS2 copy because I don’t have that dumb game.
When you get back Chris you better show up. I have Roger on FB so I will try and convince him to drag his ass outta retirement. As for Gerjay, we’ll see what I can do but we might have to have Marvel 2 on DC to bait him out.
The projected date is for this May 12.
Please post on the UPCOMING DATES: May 12 @ Brettcave 2
Alright. Just realize that because it’s on a saturday, I won’t be able to come down till around 6pm ish… (I finish teaching piano at 4-ish then I got travel time)
I downloaded a bunch of MvC2 ISOs with custom soundtracks… And I’m always looking for more too, (although I suck at that game). got any suggestions?
If you need one, I can bring a hacked capcom fighting games collection for DC. which includes mvc2 and ST. Ikaruga is on there too oddly enough (awesome shmup) . I forgot what else is on the disk … The interesting thing about that is that the soundtrack can be swapped between games too. (ST with Marvel 2 music is trippy)
