Super Turbo Revival in ... TORONTO ...?

I basically built a new supergun with everything connected PROPERLY, (no ghetto fixes) and still no video/audio… I thought what else could be the problem? I hope it’s not the game board… so I switched out the A-Board for another A-board I purchased incase one conked out on me… Still no good… I REALLY hope it’s not the B-board that’s busted… but I have no way to tell at this point…

From what I recorded on my cell, the results are:

Kevin 03 - 10 Jed
Kevin 04 - 10 Brett
Kevin 04 - 10 Heero
Kevin 10 - 09 Unessential
Jed 09 - 10 Unessential
Heero 10 - 08 Unessential
Brett 10 - 02 Unessential
Brett 08 - 10 Heero
Brett 03 - 10 Jed
Jed 10 - 04 Heero

The Overall Round robin scores are therefore:

Jed 3 wins and 1 loss
Heero 3 wins and 1 loss
Brett 2 wins and 2 losses
Unessential 1 win and 3 losses
Kevin 1 win and 3 losses

If any of the scores are fucked up due to my ADD during sf plz correct me.

Thanks to Brett for hosting and uploading all the bandwidth btw.

Thanks to Dogberry for the Xbox mame. Never seen the xbox dashboard until that day, in 2012 like 5 or so years after xbox became obsolete.

Good shit to Unessential for blowing me up. I needed that wake up call.

Thanks for coming out guys. Hopefully I’ll be able to bring an old cvs2 player out of retirement for next time and teach him the sf2 way.

Easiest way is to borrow another B-board (any game).

But if you really think it’s just your video encoder, you can try to see if you get the coin spam sound when tapping the coin switch since the audio comes directly from the board. (also check if fans in the a board is spinning)

the a board fan spins…
Yeah, no other b-board I can borrow, that’s why I said at this point there’s no way to tell… I might bring both A&B board to a place to see if it’ll run on a cabinet…

Maybe an Arcade power supply will make it run… or maybe something in the b-board fused/blew… but I don’t know enough about how a B-board works though…

I’m going through segments the video now, I’ll edit this post with timestamps as I find them:

Timestamps: Kev vs Psychochronic 20:21
Kev vs Herro 45:24
Kev vs Unessential 1:06:25
Jed vs Unessential 1:36:54

What time are people showing up at A&C wednesday? I’ll be bringing my setup since the supergun isn’t fixed yet. Just need another stick that’ll work on XBOX1.

Me and Brett will be down for around 5ish.

I get off work at 5 instead of 3:30 because we’ve been very busy… I’ll probably be down there by 6-7ish

Okay, something’s come up and it looks like I’ll probly get there earliest 8, latest 8:30. Are ppl still down for about 2 hours of ST? Yay or nay?

Better off doing it some other night then.

Alright then I won’t bother lugging any of my gear. Let’s wait until the planned july meetup.

I want to ask about all the obvious stuff like whether your JAMMA connector is keyed and in the right orientation.

Okay so Unessential just texted me. It seems he can bring his DC gear when he gets there. Jed and Brett, if you still are showing up post here. Chances are I still won’t be able to make it until 8, latest 8:30, but if Unessential shows up at around 7 then we have about 3 hours of casuals at A&C.

I’m sitting this one out for sure.

Next time I’m bringing an old BCC regular to give us a big +1 to our numbers.

I think I know who you’re talking about, please tell him he has the potential to break sticks.

Are any of you guys going to EVO? I would love to met some ST heads from Canada. Good luck with your revival, everything looks great so far.

Okay, since i don’t have any dreamcast stuff and i can’t lug that massive black brick aka the xbox around when i work, i’m going to have to say that st night at a&c is postponed until the next brettcave degen or a&c meetup.

Ask the obvious stuff… Sometimes that might be the answer even though in my mind i’ve run through it many many times…

(No, my jamma connector isn’t keyed, but I’m sure it’s in the right direction because I have the pinout… That wouldn’t affect anything would it? I can always key it if it does…)

Nah, the the keying is just there so that you can’t plug it in the wrong way around. If you have a meter or some similar tool, I would suggest going through and checking to make sure that the connections are good. You should also check that it’s getting the right voltages. (I’ve had mixed results with screw clamps.)

Pics might be helpful.
