Couldn’t make it out as well. It’s getting more difficult to come out on Wednesdays nowadays, hopefully when Summer starts, I can make it out on Wednesday nights again.
I’m happy to see that we got some new blood joining the group. Were they any good? Do they play casually in their own locals, or did they just decide to try the game out recently?
I don’t think this Final Justice is the same one lol He seemed like a pretty cool guy not the Troll type. To be honest I may have his name wrong (it was late when I finally wrote that) all I remember is it was “something Justice” and he was a Honda\Ryu Player.
P.S Moocus - I don’t want hand outs, I want that ass =P
Belated thanks to everyone for showing up last Sunday for the MAME ST test. The experiment turned out quite well. Big thanks to Watson for lending us space for setting up and Commando for streaming everything…it was much appreciated guys!
Family Man: We opted to use LCDS to try and modernize ST abit. Bringing an LCD is 10x easier than bringing multiple CRTs. Case in point, most people who play ST nowadays prefer a H2H setup, which means 2 CRTs per each station. Now imagine if you’re running an ST tourney with 25+ people, you will undoubtedly need at least 2 setups, which = 4 CRTs. I can tell you from first hand experience, lugging 4 of those to a venue is not fun. Also, for the long term growth of the ST scene, it would be nice if players could actually utilize the monitors already at events (most majors at least use the Evo Asus monitors).
I think with the strong momentum ST is gaining combined with upcoming TOL, the scene will gain a tremendous amount of exposure which will hopefully bring new and returning old players alike. Many of them will ask…“how do I play this game at home?” I think it’s important that we have realistic answer to them besides the you’ll need $600 to “play” this game.
Damn. Wish I could’ve met up with you tonight, Andy.
Just a heads up, I’ll be visiting family for most of this week, so I won’t be able to run anything on Wednesday. That shouldn’t discourage you guys from running a tournament yourselves if there are enough people! Also, Super Sunday won’t be streamed this week! We’ll still run the event as usual, but I’m working with Armando to arrange a day that better suits his schedule.
