@eltrouble - I’ve got the finals from last night uploading to my file server I’ll send you the link so you can get them sorted out for our viewing pleasure.
Thanks Voltech. And thanks for letting me use your tripod, it makes it a lot easier to record the matches with that thing, even if it does make the corner space a little more cramped. Can I please ask that you bring the tripod this Saturday as well, along with the regular WNF tourneys? I would greatly appreciate it.
i think you guys should force eltrouble to learn how to do uppercuts before you guys do any more favors for him… just saying…
lolz, i’m heading out for some practice tonight if anyone wants a training dummy.
Not anymore Mike, those problems are a thing of the past bro. I got uppercuts, juice kicks, gimmicks, all on lock.
Not to derail the thread but after 2 years and some change I figured out how to get ggpo going again on an old xp box I had in the closet. Look for PowerDuck obv lol
I’ve uploaded the matches to the youtubes.

Good games to everyone… My production at work on Thursdays has dropped 60%… I luv WNF’s man… I like the tournaments alot, just wish there was more time for me to play some casuals with everyone.
As always, I’m jealous of the west coast fighting game scene. No arcades in Florida!
hey guys, commando is here to test out his new capture card stuff so if you can show up so he can run a test stream would be nice.
Just an FYI, there will only be casuals this week. I think some wholesome practice is more important than a tournament right now, but if everyone really wants a tourney, I can’t help but oblige. Don’t expect a tourney for now though.
That’s fine by me. I don’t think I can reliably record the matches anyways, I need some time to work out tournament details.
I’m cool with just casuals this week. Tourneys are fun and all but I spend most of the time watching when I wanna play!
What’s up guys. This is my first post here in any of the Super threads. I love that I’m back in the FGC. Playing WNF ST tournaments and hanging out with
the ST crew made me feel once again why I loved playing Street Fighter back in the early 90’s partly due to the love of the game and the Comraderie. I quit during Super back in the days partly because of girls and the scene dying lol. Shout outs to the OGs and new school players for keeping SF2 alive. Shout outs to Watson for what he’s done for Super Arcade and saying “What’s up Teddy!” when I was playing ST last Wednesday. Mike Watson, during the World’s Finest Comics’ days was the best in the world in tripping you after you pressed a button. It was so sick.
I’ll try to continue supporting the ST scene even though I prefer “competition” sticks which were the standard in the early 90’s to the perfect 360 “optical sticks” (the feel is a bit different), sanwa and seimitsu, but I have to adjust to the times even though my DPs and execution seems off lol. Hopefully it gets better in time hehe.
I’ll try to talk to some of the San Bernardino SF2 crew from back in the days to get back into playing SF2 or just make an appearance in future ST tournaments which included myself, Roger Cejalvo, Aric & Justin Tetley, Duc Do (one of my best friends in our high school), and others. Roger and Aric was actually in the following Tomo Rankings board pic and Duc Do went on to win an MvC2 EVO Championship. Justin, Duc, and I were too young to regularly drive to World’s Finest since it was a pretty far drive.
I’m looking forward to this upcoming Wednesday. I think I’m going to be practicing some N.Dhalsim who seems to be very good in ST. I actually played Dhalsim a lot in World Warriors when he had that “Eternal Nuggie” lol. Hope some of you enjoyed some of my insight on the Golden Age of Street Fighter. Peace out.
Watson in 5th? How did the World’s Finest ranking system operate back in the day?
wait Im ex San Bernardino
Is Roger the dude the tall skinny dude that had his own sf2 cab back in the day ? Aric and Justin ? I remember an Eric. Chubby white dude would drive around in his car looking for comp. Played mostly at the Inland Center Mall.
Whats your name or nick name from back in the day ? Did you ever play at Lazar Blast Arcade ?
Thanks for that post Eddy! It’s always a pleasure to have someone recap their experiences back in day, and it’s even better when those people come out and show us newer players how things were done back then. We really appreciate having you as a part of the ST scene! Also, please stick with N.Sim! There aren’t any Sim players in the WNF crew yet, and Shirts doesn’t come out enough for us to have sufficient match-up practice.
not gonna lie, back then the owner of the arcade hated me. like literally we hated each other and it became out of hand at one point… he was a body builder lol, so that didnt go too well on my part but yeah, in champ edition i was always 2nd place like 90% of the time with Tomo being 1st. those rankings were changed before the photo just to spite me and well, it did…
Any chance we could get a board like that going?
And the owner was Charles Franco right? Tomo’s manager? Mike, why does it seem like everybody either likes you or hates you? lol. But that sucks about the rankings board being changed before the picture.
That’d be pretty awesome to have. Or we could just hold some sort of ranbat system, where we get points for tournament placings, and at the end we determine who gets a seasonal pot prize in the end, along with their name on top of the board.
