100 effin games of E. Ryu yesterday and today and now I can say with confidence that he wasn’t a waste of a character slot. That DMG output is too hot. I’ve even got the hot fireball corner combos in a match. God help you if you if you miss a link though

Its gonna be tough to find another venue, but ill ask around, im sure i can figure something out. I told gamescape they should just hire me to run the tournaments and that would solve everything.

Outside tournaments with such a low venue fee are a sales pitch to hopefully get some of us back in there as paying customers. It obviously doesn’t. Everything else is irrelevant really.

They could increase the venue fee to something closer to the norm. I’d be cool with $6. Increases their cut by 200% and it’s only a $4 increase for the players. Hell, a lot of venue fees at tournaments are this much or higher.

Ok so i’ve been chatting with gamescape all morning about the situation and here’s the final word.
We can still do tournies there, however the venue fee raises to 5 bucks. The TOs do not get any cut of this for running the tourney whatsoever…
Friendlies can only be played by tourney players on separate setups unless the tourney setups are free due to lack of matches.
They refused to have a “spectator fee” for people wanting to come in and just play, but there are ways around that i suppose…
Turns out you were right, the more i spoke to them about it, the more i got the idea that the mall had very little to do with it and they just wanted more money.
I feel slightly shafted after all the business i gave them over the years to do me like that, since im basically going to be doing all the work for and get nothing for it, they get all of it for doing none of the work. Some bullshit like someone can’t make money in the mall without paying a portion of it to the mall. but its w/e it gives us a venue until i can find something better. It seems that we can still be assholes (i.e Geoff) and i got it so that after the very last tourney match is played, we have an hour to get up and leave.
Any way im gonna go make a thread here in a bit for a tourney on the 6th of August for the following games:
