Hey it’s immortal. I do feel bad for Robo’s partner, I guess we just won’t name him. I’m not sure why he wants to be un-named but whatever. And of course I feel bad for Robo as well. Like Raisen said we tried all the combinations and the only one that apparently worked was ninja vs. Robo.
I am all for trying anything different and new so I will certainly give this NFBA the test and see how it goes. Honestly I’m not impressed with this p2p all that much and last night it certainly didn’t do the tournament any favors. Props to that guy who made it and is still putting his efforts into improving it. I hope he gets it all figured out, I really do. But for now it needs much work. Not trying to sound mean.
Hey ninja, thanks for teaming up. We made a good team obviously. :wgrin:
Teknik, I’m keeping an eye out for ya, buddy!
Rushed, what in the world are you talking about with this DJ 360 stuff?!?!
Ah ok it all makes sense now. I was thinking about Dee Jay the character. That Honda super might just be the worst in the game along with Blanka.

Hey just a question for anyone trying the newest kaillera.dll file. It seems they took out the ability to go to servers. I sort of deleted my old file, I didn’t think they would take something like that out. Where do I find a file that has the option to log onto servers. Can’t really do Super Sundays if I can’t get on GodWeapon you know?
I love NeoFBA, but so far it seems a fair number of people are having issues with that emulator. If you & your opponent wanna use it in Super Sundays this week, then go for it, but I want to say that we’re still gonna keep Mame 0.64 and Nov. 2nd version of the P2P client as the “baseline” for at least one more week. So don’t dump your old setup completely just yet.
Keep leaving that feedback on neoFBA in the NFBA thread. I’ll be watching it closely.
At the P2P site, under the downloads section, and way near the bottom, you can get the old Nov. 2nd kaillera.dll. That’s the one that still has client mode.
Edit: Thanks for reminding me… If we make a full-blown switch to to the new P2P client someday, then of course it doesn’t have client mode, so we lose access to our chat rooms for matchmaking. 0746 says he’s working on adding built-in chat at some point, so I’d be inclined to use that. Anyway, I’ll cross that bridge when we come to it and find some solution. But for now, this is part of why I don’t want people to completely ditch Mame 0.64 and its older P2P (Nov. 2nd, client-compatible) version.
NEWS FLASH !!! djfrijoles gets his shit pushed in !!!
Woooooooooooooo I Got Rocked Tonight:rofl:
It’s all good though. GGS to everyone I played. Most amazing shit I saw tonight was Stephanies come back. I needed 7 wins and she needed 3.
I went straight to 6 wins with 0 for Steph. Then the beast comes out!!!
She takes the score back to 6-2. We start the last match and she takes the first round. I was sweating it by then. I take the second round after that.
So we went to sudden death. The match starts and we get into our usual footsy battle and she scores a few consecutive hits and gets the dizzy DOH
Then she busts out a big quadrupal fierce combo and gets major damage for the
win. Best game of the night.
So my final score was like 4 straight loses tonight:rofl: everyone points and laughs like I had a little dick
GGS again to everyone I played tonight !!!

My problem was I only had one glass of Tequila lol
Ok, there’s a mistake here. I had a rating of 1650 last week. I played 4 people yesterday and went 2-2 so my rating should be the same. You must’ve recorded an incorrect result.
I beat djfrijoles, lost to denny, lost to brian, and beat ej.
Yeah, it appears there were a number of incorrect entries from last week. Apologies for that; I’m working to correct them as quickly as possible…
Edit: Scaryice, I fixed your rating and identified the problem that caused it. Really sorry about that.
There are 1 or 2 more issues that I’m still investigating, so the listing might still change a bit. If something’s wrong with your rating, please let me know in a PM so I can fix it. We’re here to serve you guys, and although we’re human and might make the occasional mistake despite trying our best, we need to make sure we get stuff right for the sake of the players.
I apologize if I goofed up any of your rankings - this was not done intentionally. Like Raisin said, we hope to get everything straightened out. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
So I was lucky enough to be free enough to get some games in myself this past Sunday, and I wanna give a shoutout to everyone I got a chance to play: damdai, Robogesso, and brian. Good games to one and all! I had a lot of fun, and there were a lot more people I wanted to challenge but didn’t get a chance to, so I hope I get to make up for that next time I have an opportunity.
We’d like to rename the S.S. Tourney Desk for the future. The issue is that that particular name tends to attract a lot of random people who pop in and go HAY GUYZ WUT KINDA TOURNEY R U RUNNING?? It’s not that that we’re against meeting new people or anything, but it just tends kinda cause a mess in there. It creates extra “noise” in that room which we prefer to be as quiet as possible, and we get tired of explaining what the setup is over and over and over again. Like 99% of them have no interest in participating anyway, and then sometimes they end up sitting in there for no reason and we have to worry about kicking them out on top of all the other stuff we’re busy with.
Anyone have a better name? It would have to be short (no longer than “S.S. Matchmaking”) and descriptive. We were thinking of “S.S. Results” or something, but I guess that’s not as accurate as it could be, since players not only turn in results there but also set up their matches as well. Got any ideas?
I can’t think of a name cept if you consider using some random anti nosy people shit, but here is a much better idea
/maxusers <#>
set it to two people so you can set one match up at a time. this also gives pressuer to the people IN the room because you know some one is waiting outside to get the detaills of THEIR match.
Not sure if this is the correct place to ask but is there a certain way to setup the sound? I get some odd sound issues every so often. Is that normal?
If you are reffering to nfba than we all have that problem. ( garbled sound ? )
Look through here first and if you don’t find any good info then it’s still the place to ask.
Very glad to see this- not only ST online, but an ELO system to boot? I originally proposed we use an ELO ranking system way back in the agsf2 days. Last week, I got GGPO working (I think that uses FBA, not nFBA?) and it was fairly straight forward, with a handy getting started type of guide on the website. Is there something like that guide for this? Do you use the chat in kaillera to coordinate, how does it work to find an opponent (or even know you are able to connect)?
GGPO seems to require a minimum 2Ghz chip to play, but does this way that you play (just kaillera?) need anything that fast? I can play the ROM fairly fine on an old machine offline and have dsl, is that enough?
Tell you what brother, if you have MSN,YIM, or AIM than add me and I’ll take you step by step. In this sect. there are a couple ST p2p threads with a few heads that posted there IM i.d. and that pretty much is the best way to not bumb into jerks from Kaillera. The other alternative when no one is on is to run Mame instead and jump into one of the servers using either the old p2p client that has another tab built into it and go hunting for a match in there or use one of there other clients that are like that by default. example : Anti 3d client or Supras client.
I get off work today at 3 pm ( gmt 6 ) so look for me sometime in the afternoon and we will get you going so you can get some action with us on Sunday.
If you don’t have any IM service than shoot me a PM and well see what we can work out. That reminds me, I need to clean out my PM’s . My shit is 97 % full lol.
You’re right; things are a little disorganized right now as far as a guide for getting started. There’s info out here, it’s just scattered in multiple places. Part of the problem is that I’m waiting to see if we’re in some sort of transitional period as far as emulators go and stuff, so I don’t want to write something and have it get outdated immediately.
The Beginner’s Guide to MAME – Covers Mame 0.64, which is still (at the time of writing) our “standard” emulator. We used to use it back before NFBA existed and also because being able to go from P2P to Client mode made it easy to organize chat rooms as far as organizing the events go. This emulator is a bit of a dinosaur, but hey…
http://kaillera.movsq.net/ – Home of the P2P client and its buddy, the NFBA emulator. We still use the older P2P client with Mame 0.64, and it’s near the bottom of the download list. NFBA only works with the newest P2P.
NFBA emulator thread – Still quite new, and you can find some details here. For the most part, there aren’t really any guides to setting it up, because it’s fairly self-explanatory if you’ve installed any other emulators.
For now, we use the GodWeapon server and some appropriately-named chat rooms. There’s basically just a matchmaking room and people meet up. You can find details in the first post.
I don’t know for sure without knowing your computer specs, but for what it’s worth, NFBA works reasonably well on older equipment. I play on a computer over 5 years old with an Athlon 1600 processor and it’s great for me. DSL usually works well unless you have an iffy wireless connection or something.
