Super Street Fighter x Tekken at Tokyo Game Show or NYCC?

Hi guys,

I was wondering if Capcom will present the big upgrade to SFxT at Tokyo Game Show, which is this week, or at NY Comic-Con (october 11).

From what I know, and from some infos coming from some guys I know at Capcom Europe, the next big version of the game will be out by Paris Games Week, which is at the end of october/beginning of november (it seems to be planned sometime around the Vita release of the game which’ll be out by late october).

Ayano was talking about this update on the Street Fighter blog and I’m wondering when they gonna start talking about it. TGS or NYCC are the next big expo coming in the next weeks and Capcom is present at the two (they already said that they are presenting SFxT for Vita there).

I have checked for NYCC and there is panels planned there : http://nycc12.mapyourshow.com/5_0/sessions/session_results.cfm?type=keyword&keyword=capcom

Whats your guess. Will Capcom unveil the 2.0 to SFxT at TGS or NYCC?

It’s probably the update they’ve been talking about for the whole cast…hopefully Ono wasn’t lying about this:

Since the Vita version will be compatible with the PS3 version, the update will probably drop around the time the Vita version comes out so everything’s in sync.
I really hope Capcom isn’t dumb enough to repeat the MVC3 thing with the backlash they’ve already gotten. This game has suffered enough…

Yeah, I think it’ll be more of a 2.0 update than relasing a complete Super SFxT on disc edition.

Or maybe they’ll do it like AE : A free update and a re-release on disc for those who haven’t bought the game (or those who have sold it). It could be cool if Capcom releases a GOTY Edition with all the free content (chars, gems, colors, etc.) in it. A lot of people could really be interested by a re-release on disc like that.

There might be bonuses for PS Vita version right before release.

They’re not likely going to overhaul the game much. I don’t know why people get the impression it needs a big upgrade.

I doubt SFxT will get the Super Turbo Ultra treatment. For SF4, it was kinda expected for me at least because it was tradition and there was also so much that was possible to put into the game; character wise at least. For Marvel 3 it was mostly because of sales but also because of fan request of who to add to the roster. Haven’t been listening if there’s been much support for SFxT (I do know it has a small following), but there’s been so much negative criticism for various reasons that doing a major update would be pointless. Most likely scenario is that the community would just ignore it.

So, guess no 2.0 annoucements at TGS…

PSVita has some possible undocumented/unannounced changes.

They may announce a save for it at NYCC.

I just saw this yesterday on Ono’s Twitter.

Ono just being Ono but it seems we’ll get some news at NYCC. Hope it’s gonna be SFxT 2.0 annoucement.

Anybody down here going to NYCC?
