I don’t disagree with that at all. Art customization and button color swapping is always nice.
Repainting the case to a new color? That’s a pain! (Would call it the word that we use for female dogs but there are females among us that don’t care for that word…)
<Sigh> I’d still like to see an all-white case from Mad Catz that wasn’t 360-only or a limited edition run that I know I’m not going to mod. I just like the ladies too much on the Femme Fatale case to do a custom art mod on that stick base! LOL
Jinx,
Lots of us think the the new faceplate does look like an extended Hong plexi, too… Prettty sure that’s not intentional.
I think it’s just thedesigners responding to complaints about the bevel from the previous case runs and part of the attempt to just “slim down” the case. Not having the bevel and slimming down the plastic lines I’m sure cuts down on unit costs, too.
The more I look at this thing, the more convinced I’m going to get at least one of the SSFIV sticks. After I get a Round 2, that is!
My kingdom for a generic MC design case that’s pure white… (Besides the Femme Fatale which I don’t dare touch!)
Well, I’ve always felt the width and extra sides on the TE were what helped stabilize it for me during lap play. The removal of them is not a positive thing from my view point. I might be the only person, but I really loved how the TE was wider than most sticks.
Also, aesthetically the original TE looks better as well IMO. As far as new PCB goes… about time I guess. I had to replace my te pcb with a controller pcb to get away from the whole trigger issue.
so any word if there will be a new SE stick? i dont think disabling the start/select buttons on those is as much of a big deal (at least the stock ones) since they’re much different than normal arcade buttons.
Well I at least hope these neww ones drive down the prices on the original TE’s. I’m not a big fan of the look of this new one, honestly. I really like the Round 2s but I can’t make myself drop that kinda of money when I recently finally got an HRAP 3 SA (Seimitsu modded).
Just got in touch with someone who was at the FightClub and apparently one of the new sticks used was “wigging out at random” and more than a few people were complaining after they lost while using it in the tournament.
I like the current viewlix case, this one looks rather plain like your are playing on a big ass plexi. I need to see it next to a standard TE to see what the size differences really are. The current TE has some good space in it to dual mod and what not. BTW, what are people doing with their sticks that they have to go out of their way to lock ST and SL? I have never hit those buttons by accident… ever
Not really a fan of the full-face plexi/artwork. I guess it doesn’t help that Microsoft require the controllers to have the same stupid button colours.
