A couple things for my “S” TE.
Silicone grease is $30 a pop on lizardlick (trying to have my stick stop squeaking) is it this expensive everywhere? or would hardware stores like Home Depot have it?
Also I reopened my TE and noticed black "burn" marks near various screws and on the plate. I can smudge them off with my thumb but I'm feeling somethings wrong and would like to prevent something before its to late.
Lol sorry, getting tired.
Jdm, thx for your responses you’ve been a big help.
As for the grease, can I just lift the dust protector and apply or should I open the stick to apply
EDIT: Googled it and came up with this
The subname is a little differnt than what you put (G-3W-0-M is what they got it listed as )
Same stuff?
Just wanted to update saying the grounding mod doesn’t work for fixing RH button failure on the PCB If it “worked” for other people then great. Even though i’m not being open minded in saying this…I think the mod is BS.
Just purchased a TE-S stick today but am regretting the decision. Aren’t most the templates made for the regular shaped TE sticks with the round edges? I’m no photo-shopper so grabbing templates from that thread for custom artwork is important to me, FML. I wonder if its too late to return.
JDM my grease came in the mail today. I opened the stick and noticed the red switches were causing the “squeaks”. So I applied and for the most part it worked but one switch still squeaks. Do I just keep applying until it goes away?
Edit: Got them all to stop squeaking but it took a good amount of grease. Any certain technique or you just have to use a lot?
They fit anyway, even if you use a full panel plexiglass cover. I know more than a few folks have gone that route (full panel plexi but regular sized art).
After looking at art’s TE-S compatibility page I see that the plate underneath also has round edges so I’m assuming I could just get the regular TE cover which has round edges and would be fine with using the TE template’s threads artwork.
If I used regular sized art with a full panel plexi wouldn’t it look funny being that the artwork has rounded edges and the artwork wouldn’t stretch across the entire plexi glass.
I just got a TE S stick and noticed lots of scratches/scuff marks on the sides of the base and on the buttons. The clear plastic art cover looks fine though. Was just wondering if anyone else noticed this on theirs and if this could be a packaging issue or some kind of refurb/return?
Also, I noticed the R1 button giving out on me for a bit before it fixed itself. Happened once out of about an hour of play.
I just got my TE-S and I am really pleased. It feels a bit amputated without the wings, but I like the way it feels without the bezel. I’m definitely looking forward to swapping the artwork with a plexi.
Is there any solution for the emo wrist cutting? Its just my joystick hand that starts to get a bit sore as its resting right on where the bottom of the artwork meets the body of the case.
Yup. I tried all USB Ports. It is kinda weird.
It worked for about 30 Minutes but then suddenly stopped working again.
Then it worked while I was in the PS3 Menu (XBM), but did not work while ingame.
Today it was working fine again
I was just practicing few minutes ago: no problems. but im still afraid that problem might come back.
Having the same issue on the button giving out and not responding. Got the TE-S (White) for PS3 and my R2 button does not go off on a random basis, have to hit it @ least 4~5 times for it to kick back in. Only had it for 3 weeks = ( I hope this is just a fluke, cause I am loving the stick and Amazon is sending me a replacement, hope the replacement works out. Best luck to the rest of the people who bought the TE-S.
