Any idea when Gamestop is going to have these for pre-order?? Anyone able to pre-order these yet by any chance? I have about $110 in-store credit so it would be nice to get it from there instead of Amazon. :wgrin: Got my eyes on the 360 black one.

werent they supposed to improve the little wire compartment on these?
I’m new to the SF sticks, but not to gaming. Since the release date is so close, would you guys suggest picking up some R2 TE’s on ebay for 139, or wait it out and pick u the TE S for 149 on March 12?
I’d say it comes down to two things:
- Which design do you like more (note: the R2 TE has a bigger base if you want the bigger fightstick)
- If you’re willing to wait (those extra 2 weeks are a good extra amount of time to get used to a fightstick in my opinion)
Personally, I like the vanilla SF4 TE sticks because of the wider base, but I suppose it’s personal preference.

What sold me on this stick is that they’re supposedly updated the pcb and it’s not as wide. I’m gonna keep the parts stock and just add a CHiMP in it.

You’re probably right, I remember pre-ordering the TE stick a month before. They should have been up for pre-order even before Amazon. :wasted::wasted::wasted:
Why do I get a feeling there won’t be as many “S” TE fighting sticks made as the previous Rounds?
Could it be the fact that I haven’t seen pre-orders for it outside of Amazon? I’ve asked at GameStop and nobody’s heard/seen pre-orders for it as of a week ago. ( <= At least not when I’ve checked. I’ve gotta admit I’m not in an “economic condition” to buy a new joystick. I’m tapped out. Doesn’t help that the new designs unveiled just aren’t clicking with me, either…)
I don’t know they are barely in the pre-order stage now, and I guess the theory of GameStop not going for pre-orders due to their MVC2 Stick overstock could be true, but once they’re released I’m sure they’ll be widely available (or at least as widely available as the R1/R2 TE sticks are now).
they’re probably also not expecting to sell as many, since they’re probably thinking most people who buy sticks will have bought one of the first rounds ones…
I prefer the original TE’s design over this one… but I’m one of those odd few that doesn’t like character art on their sticks. The slim’s design is clearly a result of listening to and watching the community so kudos on that one.

I’m pretty much thinking that’s what’s up with GameStop, too.
They seriously got burned on the Tekken 5 joystick. They sat on those for years and only got rid of their entire stock when it was reduced to $29.99! They were pretty cautious and did pre-orders mostly for the Tekken 6 joystick. Good call! Tons of the T6 box collections are collecting dust at Best Buy and frankly the reviews for the T6 wireless have been lukewarm at best.
My opinion on the MVsC2 stick is that both Mad Catz and GameStop missed the launch window for that stick and there probably weren’t as many fighting game Marvel fanboys as they thought to begin with. Too late and too many sticks produced.
I’ve got good economic incentives (I’m BROKE!) to sit out this SSFIV joystick wave. I’ll probably get another Round 1 stick in the future for a true Vanilla/White Stick mod. I’m fairly “meh” towards the TE “S” stick.
The Hori RAP V SA, on the other hand, looks pretty good, and I’d snatch one up in an instant if it ever got released in the US now.
pre-ordered black one, Art get on some plexi for this =D
Is the art stuck to the plexi on the “S” sticks? I thought that was one of the features, that you can remove the plexi and put your own art in w/ no additional cost.
