I keep getting this fatal error thingy. I can’t even start the damn game I JUST bought.
Hey, I’m not sure if anyone checks this thread any more, but I figured I’d post here before making a thread.
Recently picked up AE for PC and every time I try and play a match, the game just freezes on the intro cut-scenes for the characters before I ever get to fight, and then I usually get thrown off of Windows Live. Conneting to players and choosing characters/stages isn’t a problem, only when the game begins.
My PC is ranked A at highest settings with a 120FPS avg frame rate. My machine can easily run this game and I’ve even taken the graphics settings down any way.
I heard that vsync and smooth framerate can cause problems, so I’ve turned vsync off and set framerate to fixed.
Still, I get this freezing problem. I can play the offline game fine, just can’t play against actual players…
Anyone know a fix for this?

Type services.msc into ‘run’ in Windows.
Scroll down to ‘Windows Live ID Sign-In Assistant’ and start the service.

Well that actually wasn’t the fix. I fixed this yesterday.
Strange, it fixed my fatal error problem. How many can there be?

Yup. Got that fixed. Got that insane input lag fixed. Seriously, the new patch better fix these issues.
I get the** “ssf4.exe - ordinal not found”** error!!! and can’t install the GFWL, am using the Windows 8 C.P.E copy…
ps: sorry if my question is out of place…
I just bought a cd-key online. It’s GFWL key so i can’t download it from Steam. Where can i download a legit version?

I7 3820QM
HD 7970M
Full HD
8GB RAM 1600 Mhz
To be honest i m not so into Videocard and all, so I know it s kind of good configuration and that the game should run smoothly.
What I would like to know is :
Will I be able to put all at maximum with this kind of laptop?
How many frame during the benchmarck should I be looking for in order to make sure that the game run exactly like on arcade( I know game run at 60 frame, but I think I should look for 80 frame to make sure that the game never drop frame during an actual fight)?

I can start the installation but it’s going further then around 20% (see picture)

I have the GFWL version, can’t update my copy to 2012. I don’t have a download prmpt or anything. Anyone know how to fix this?
how can I change the in-game language to English? Mine is localized to Norwegian, and I don’t want that.
So I downloaded this game during the steam sale, and I haven’t even been able to play a single round. This is by far the buggiest piece of software I have ever installed on my PC.
It ran okay at first, but after I changed some options, it just crashes instead of going to the character select screen.
I undid all my changes, and even went so far as deleting my save file and verifying the game install.
Still crashes at the character select screen.
That’s by far the most serious issue I’m having with the game, but it’s by no means the only one.
I’m going to see if I can have the game invalidated and get my $10 back.
Apparently, Valve doesn’t give refunds except in countries that require them to do so by law, so I dicked around with the game files and got it to run.
I’m not sure why this fixed my problem, but what I did was this:
>delete SSFIV.exe.cfg
>launch the game, which crashed with a weird error
>restore the SSFIV.exe.cfg file from the recycle bin
>launch the game
So now it’s up and running, but I’m running into some odd performance issues. The benchmark is returning really good results, but when I actually play, it doesn’t run anywhere near as well. Also, when I connected my joystick, my framerate dropped even lower.

definitely switch v-sync off… i notice slight tearing when there is alot of movement on the screen with vsync off, but it’s not really noticeable when you’re playing a match. v-sync on for me made it unplayable. it felt like my character was in molasses when i was trying to move him around on the screen. not good for when you need to tech or do very deep uppercuts.

if you’re unable to sign in to your live/xbl account, just keep trying, it worked for me after the 10th try lol…

if it somehow doesn’t prompt you to download the 2012 patch once you’ve signed in, then get the standalone patch here

i’m using my samsung syncmaster 2343bwx lcd screen on my pc, and i still notice a slight bit of lag with this monitor, but at least with v-sync turned off, the game’s performance is comparable to a wired ps3 connection… i will be trying out my asus vh23 on my PC when i get a chance to verify that my samsung monitor is the final source of input lag on my PC setup. this will tell me that even with PC, an asus lagless is recommended.
are there any other tips you guys have that I’ve missed in this thread to ensure minimal input lag? i’m all ears. other than that, the game looks great, and I love how windows live shares login with my xbl account… i like being able to communicate with my xbl friend’s list even when i’m on PC lol.

I’m trying to install Arcade Edition on my PC (I already installed it on my laptop with no problems) and I keep getting this error code: 0x800b0100.
It kept stopping the install at 3%, so I re-downloaded the file thinking maybe something went wrong there, but the same error popped up at 12%. Anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this problem?
Try to just copy the files from your PC to your laptop, without installing it with a large pendrive or a usb drive. I had the same problem.
And i have question to. Is there a way to transfer my save data onto my laptop copy from my PC? I tried to copy the files from the Documents directory, but when i booted up the game, it said there are no savegame present.
