Congrats to everyone who participated in the AE tournament and well done to the Wolfe brothers making the top spots
I was listening in on the alphaism radio, and it sounded like the matches were crazy. Seemed like there was alot of countering and switching of characters. It looks like the West coast players done extremely well, but what about Jason Cole. Also what happened to the East Coast qualifiers, DSP, Wong and NKI.

Congrats to all the American players for winning AE. It’s awesome that Tokido was using CE Bison. That guy plays the absolute cheapest thing available in every game. Sometimes that doesn’t even mean the best character as long as it’s the cheapest, aka Urien w/ unblockable Aegis.
I was hoping one of the Wolfe brothers would take AE, but i’m also really glad to see Valle doing well again.
What happened to NKI, Cole and Watson?

Uhh, I thought Alex Wolfe did take the top spot in AE?:wonder: Valle took out Daigo, but I don’t think he won it.
Yeah, i’m saying i’m happy it went down the way it did.
Considering how buff and how dumb a lot of the CE characters are, i’m pretty sure most of the people in the top 8 at Evo would have preferred to play ST. It all depends on how arcade-accurate they make the ST port in the new Capcom Classics Collection. If it’s good then Evo staff will probably just switch over to pure ST since it’ll be the first time anyone got it right.

You can’t run a tournament as big as Evo using emulated ST, especially now with Capcom people showing up. Then again maybe they were trying to get into some hooker convention down the hall, made a wrong turn, and had to play it off like they totally meant to attend Evo this year.

This has been bugging me.
This thread has over 2700 posts, while the whole of CFJ board has 2500 posts. . If you count up all the sf2 related threads since CFJ got its own board, i wouldn’t be suspised if it simply dwarfs the hell out of 2500. And if you add up all the sf2 related posts since the beginning…
ST has been at every evo up untill 2005 aswell as B4 and B5, and AE for this years evo. And now we got HF on xb360. Why must such an important game(series) to the scene be restricted to one major thread with a couple of smaller ones? is CFJ a major tournament game? Even alpha anthology got its own board, will that become an official evo tournament game?
I think its about time, no long over due that SF2 in general got its own board. Then we can start posting character specific threads, game specific threads, match/combo video thread. It can get really confusing trying to find specific info you need in this mishmash.
I agree, trying to dig through this thread for information can be a nightmare and nearly impossible.
With the supposed arcade perfect release of ST coming out soon console players will be able to throw away that broken ass game that is AE and focus in on ST. SRK staff/mods… please do this, it is a good suggestion.
It’s a GREAT suggestion. Make a new board for this. I almost refuse to shift through this one even if it does have tons and tons of great info.

NKI: First off congrats on Evo. Wish I could’ve gone but I hope they’re doing it again next year. Did you or anyone else get any AE footage? Non-final 8 matches are allowed up on the internet aren’t they? Secondly, did you ever find that Gian v. Otochun match up?

Even though I didn’t do very well, Evo2006 was totally awesome, and I had a great time. Probably the best tourney ever.
In the top 32, I beat James Chen (good games), lost to Graham (good games), then lost to afro legends (good games).
I didn’t get any footage, but I think Spence did.
And yes, ST needs to replace that CFJ forum…I’ll talk to Wiz.

Yes, I understand what a link is and how it works. Ken can LINK his super after a crouching short or jab and Guile can LINK his super or flash kick (not cancel or kara cancel) after low short(s). Try it, it works (at least in the arcade version of ST)-

lftrpllr: I did try the Guile thing, and so did two other people. We all agreed it doesn’t work. Are you sure you’re doing the super with MK/HK?
