Super Smash Bros Melee For The Nintendo Revolution!?

Well, IMO Falco, Roy, Ganon, and Luigi are different enough to merit remaining. They have much more major move and weight variances, and are actually legitimate other characters. Young Link is just a younger Link. Dr. Mario is just Mario in a lab coat. And Pichu is just an unevolved Pikachu that hurts himself.

And as said before, it doesn’t even really bug me that they’re there. Just that they are and characters like King Dedede, Wario, and Pit aren’t.

Except Young Link. He really bugs me because he is the same damned person. At least even Dr. M is apparently considered a seperate character (or so I gather from him having a different “history” in the trophy section).

lemme guess, they’ll also make a new mario, a new zelda, a new metroid, and a new f-zero

it’s not like we can expect anything else

^We may not expect too many new series from Nintendo but almost all of their recycled stuff is damn fun.

Also, with that much shit they put in SSBM, i wouldn’t be surprised if they did the same for SSB Revolution, with a wide selection of characters, features, options, etc. We’ll see though.

I don’t mind the clones but if Luigi is any hint, the clones should have a more variety in their moves compared to the original in the next game to shut up all the haters.

I think air throws would be a cool addition, they could counter air dodges only making it more of an intricate prediction game. Or air blocking!!!

:looney: Don’t take me seriously.:razzy:

I just heard that this game is going online, if so, nice, will give me something to do when I’m not bored.

Meh, the clones in SSBM are different enough already to count as seperate characters, even YLink and Doc. I could go into the differences and whatnot, but I have to leave soon, and that’s not really what this thread is for

But yeah, Online has been more or less confirmed. The amount of lag etc. and how much it will affect online gameplay is a somewhat large argument now on different boards, but we can’t really tell until it’s released.

they should put Poo and Everdred from Earthbound in it…

Couldn’t have put it better myself. When I last played SSB, I really didn’t notice much difference between Dr. M and regular M, which is why I consider him practically useless to roster. Granted not as much as sthe suicidal Pichu but really, if they added a few more noticable differences like other clones in the game (Roy, Gannon, Falco, Luigi) then I would see the reasoning for his inclusion.

ppl who play smash bros melee serously probably know the differences.

one thing i notice off the bat and i’m not even a melee player is that doctor mario pills i think do more damage and r better fire balls then marios.

Doc and Mario do have some profound differences, but not enough to alter their play styles. That’s my beef with them being clones. I almost never practice my Doc, but I can play him at a high level tournament if need be (and I have). Same goes for Young Link and Pichu. The difference between those two and the Doc is that the originals do everything better, so IMO they truly are pointless.

If anyone really cares to know the real differences between Doc and Mario, ressurect “The Official SSBM Thread” and I’ll go into detail.

Let’s not forget these characters that SHOULD appear in the new Smash Bros:

Little Mack
Sir Metaknight
King Dededee
Cycle(Stunt Race FX)
Magic Koopa
Wario
King Boo
Dixie Kong

These characters are mandatory.

Dixie Kong is owned by Rare so unfortunately she won’t be available.

Syn: Mario’s sweet spot forward smash is teh gay.:razzy: Street Pharmacist 4 LIFE!!!

well with a new upgrade graphically i’m pretty sure if they bring back clones they’ll further seperate them by adding to the fighting engine and having each character use that addition to the system differently just like sf2 with ken and ryu.

What about Diddy? He still appeared in DD!!. Besides, N should buy those characters off of Rare since they are part of the Kong continuity and N owns DK.

Anyway, to add to the above list:
Rick the Hamster
Krystal
ROB the Robot
Peppy Hare
Diddy Kong
Pit

And not to nitpick, but it’s Magikoopa.

Paper Boy would be awesome too. Wheelie ATTACK!!!:bgrin: And everytime he wavedashes (with his bicycle) he makes the bellringer SFX. bring-bring:cool:

Remy I dunno about D.D. Kong but Dixie, that orangutan, that baby giant gorilla with the beanie, etc… are all property of Rare.

Uhh, no. All characters involved in the DKC series – including those created by Rare – are properties of Nintendo.

I doubt Nintendo will use that reject of a character design in the next game.

(I hope not)

Hey! I like Dixie.

Although Chunky, Lanky, and Tiny I can do without.

Diddy and Cranky Kong are the only additions to the Kong Legacy really worth frequent use.

I think that last game they held a voting contest in Japan on who should appear. Wario should be a given at this point, maybe Olimar from Pikmin or Kid Icarus. Heck maybe even borrow Sonic like people have been asking for since the original.
