And that was the point where Sakurai realized he has hundreds of thousands of people eagerly waiting for even the tiniest bit of information… and did what nearly anyone else in that position would; he started being very silly. The only question remaining is whether he’ll REALLY start trolling by doing things like taking a screenshot of an unrevealed character’s foot or some other nondescript part of them… and then start running it through as many image-corrupting filters as possible before teasing us with it.
(And then it turns out we’re all wrong, he was teasing Giygas from Earthbound as a stage… hence all the visual garbling!)
The only thing I remember from past games is that Young Link/Toon Link’s attack hit once while regular Link’s hit multiple times. I’m not sure about KO potential (I don’t use any of the Links).
In Brawl Young Link’s KO potential was much better than Adult Link’s, his smashes dd just as much if not more damage and knock back and were faster too. TL F smash was one of the best moves in the game, most of his other moves especially his bair were great too.
In terms of spin attacks Young/Toon Link didn’t have any kill potential on his. Adult Link had barely any on his. I think he could KO people around 175% with his…which was a huge nerf in comparison to Melee.
You’ve got that reversed, at least for Brawl. Toon Link’s spin hits multiple times and Adult Link’s only once, at least for the grounded version.
I don’t remember how they differed in Melee, but Sonichuman is right that the kill potential was nerfed heavily in the transition to Brawl. The fully charged Spin had pretty decent KO power, but who would actually get hit by that? It’s worse than Jet Hammer.
Would anyone be surprised at all if once again Toon/Young Link was better then Regular Link in a Smash game, heck I expect it to be true if only because Toon Link is at least expressive.
