It just feels like they’re just trying to make Melee with better graphics instead of a better Brawl (or even a better, different Smash game).
This isn’t me talking down on their work, because I am beyond impressed with what they’ve accomplished. But I don’t want to play Melee again. I want to play something new.
As far as bans on game content go… I think the community can give it a fair shot. We were willing to do the same for Injustice, so perhaps the same courtesy will be extended to Smash 4. I have little doubt that some content will need to be banned, but if some of it proves to be suitable for competition then I hope it stays even if it’s of an unusual nature.
They can…but they won’t. I have absolutely no illusions on what will more than likely will happen when this game gets released.
Speaking of whistling when you fall…I wonder if that stage will occasionally have the red bird fly about underneath the platforms as it’s going through the air. That’d actually be a pretty nice nod.
Sadly, I cannot give you an official answer. I can tell you my personal opinion though and hope it’s of some help: If the game proves to be good in competition, then I sure hope so! If it were up to me, this thread would be in Fighting Game Discussion to begin with. It’s annoying that a bunch of “hurr hurr as if smash is a real fighting game” nonsense caused this thread to be posted here in the hopes of avoiding a mess.
FurryCurry, forgive me for being silly (this is solely in a playful mood)… but at one Evo in Vegas there were gambling machines about a 90 second walk away from the tournament hall, and those were played for money. Are those fighting games?
Watch, someone will bring up footage of a Street Fighter pachinko machine or something.
