Super Smash Bros. General - Patience and Spacing....or Whine and Moan

link also smashed zelda in zelda II

the problem is other links have no game :coffee:

That or that iteration of Link and Zelda may not be into each other for various reasons. Tetra didn’t look like she was looking for anyone and she was too young. OoT/MM Link may have had more of a thing for Malon…if Ruto doesn’t show up and rape the hell out of him to make sure he keeps his promise. TP Link’s interest was more so with Ilia than Zelda. I think there’s a probably a total of 2-3 zelda games where Link and Zelda may actually have a thing for each other.

I am incredibly impressed by the amount of work the Project M team has put into their version of the game, and this trailer is no exception.

However, I’m more and more disappointed that each version of Project M just feels like they’re trying to completely revert Brawl into Melee. Don’t get me wrong, Melee was a fun game, but so was Brawl. I just wish they were trying to make it into more than what it is.
But maybe that’s just me.

Brawl is raw garbage but the removing of l-canceling and wave dashing was for the best. Project M is emulating the better game while forgetting that game has problems.

#YEAHJCEASAR

I loved project M when I got my hands on it. but that was REALLY early on so I’d have to see how it is now someday.

Just as a disclaimer, I’m not at all saying Project M is poorly made or not worthwhile. It looks and plays amazing.
I just feel like it’s trying too hard to be Melee rather than aspiring to be something better.

i like to think that he murdered her when the curtain came down because of all the soul crushing time i spent dying in that game.

Shulk reveal at TGS.

PLEASE GOD

This is probably a good captionable screenshot. I’d either go for something to do with either Link asking Peach for ‘the good stuff’ or a double entendre about him hiding his master sword in a sheath.

“I got pictures of you Link… hundreds.”

Oh god I can see it now…

I had no idea smash with this popular.

Street Fighter IV only made 2.06 mil in sales? Could have sworn it was more…Wiki says as of March 2011 SF IV sold 3.1

That’s still lower than I thought it actually was though. and yeah Smash sells the most worldwide than the other fighting games. Melee made that pretty well known since the time of it’s release to the end of the Gamecube it was the highest selling game on the platform. Melee sits at 7.09 mil as of March 2008.

Footstool Jump confirmed. Yessssssssssssssss.

It doesn’t shock me that Smash is more popular worldwide than most of those franchises, though that’s a much bigger sales difference than I would have guessed.
I will also admit I’m a little surprised that Tekken beat out Street Fighter.

PSSSSSSSST! Link…She wants to fuck!

I kinda wish I could fuck Peach right now. She lookin good in this game so far. Wonder how Zelda will turn out.

I think you misunderstood the meaning of smashboards…deviantart is thataway take a right turn at Albuquerque.

It’s actually not all that surprising. The Smash games have had four major advantages going for them:

1 - Nintendo’s usual high level of polish on first party titles, on systems where such titles are usually that console’s best selling point.

2 - Incredible premise. A very large number of gamers these days have some kind of emotional tie to what Nintendo’s offering: “Want to see who’d win if Mario and Link got into a fight?” Maybe not everyone, but a lot of us grew up on these franchises and they still hold an incredible weight to us on some level or another.

3 - It’s really easy to get into Smash on its most basic levels and feel at least halfway competent (they might not be competent, but the game at least makes the uninitiated think they are). There are no tiger knee inputs, no quarter circle forward, half circle back, plus two buttons that you held to buffer the input. It’s much easier than that until you get into truly advanced stuff. This means that a wider audience can play it without feeling intimidated like they do with many traditional arcade control fighting games these days. Please note I’m not slamming that last aspect; I appreciate arcade controls for what they are, but can admit that it reduces the number of people interested in playing. Granted, “the controls are easier” isn’t an explain-all by any means. If easy controls were the sole factor in a game’s appeal, Divekick would have outsold the entire chart above combined. (Edit: And no, that’s not a mark against Divekick. I enjoy the game!)

4 - Things you or I might perceive as serious flaws in any given Smash game might not even matter to the vast majority of the audience. They’re a bit more willing to forgive Tripping. A character being a problem in high-level play doesn’t bug them because they’re never going to play on that level… they’re too busy saying ‘Ike is cheap’ as they plow headlong into random F-Smashes from him instead of using their block button or just avoiding it outright. Planking doesn’t occur to them. Wall combo infinites or grab-release infinites (I think this was a Marth-to-Lucas issue in Brawl? Unsure) don’t even enter their thought process. Being unaware of it, they don’t hold it against the game.

It’s kind of like if you have a car that explodes when doing 225 MPH, but getting it up to that speed requires amazing driving skills and techniques the average guy on the road will never even think of. They’re, understandably, going to be very happy with their car. Please don’t misunderstand this as some kind of condemnation of the entire series, though. I’ve enjoyed my share of Melee, gave Brawl a fair chance before deciding “Nope, not my kind of game”, and am genuinely looking forward to Smash 4.

Nonetheless… easy controls plus great premise plus a semi-captive audience (third party titles have not been Nintendo’s strong suit in a very long time, alas) gives them the perfect conditions for a very high-selling game!

OMG GUYS!!

PEACH IS GOING TO BE IN THE GAME!

WHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!???

Pic of the day. “The speed and power of Samus’s Charge Shot has been drastically improved. However, that could potentially put her in danger on occasion.”

https://d3esbfg30x759i.cloudfront.net/ss/zlCfzRIkj7YbbWwmHN

First they sped up her forward smash (significantly), which was showed in the initial trailer…now they speed up her charge shot. I wonder what else they sped up when it comes to her moveset? Or other adjustments in general.
