Super Smash Bros. General - Patience and Spacing....or Whine and Moan

Not sure how Ike was even a clone, or how he would be more interesting than what you are calling his base character. Ike was a miserable piece of slow boring shit in brawl.

Luigi is one of the two characters not featured yet who I believe is a complete lock (the other being Yoshi). Nintendo is hyping this up as “The Year of Luigi” so it would be a huge mistake to not include him.

I agree that he was far from a clone, and also that he was slow. I heartily disagree on the boring piece of shit part. Killing someone with Ike was one of the most satisfying feelings in Brawl, up there with mutual suicide.

Niggas just salty 'cuz they got caught slipping with dat GREAT AETHER j/k

You can’t hate Ike. He fights for his friends…

I will respectfully disagree with the summary of the FE lords more or less being the same.

The lords represent several different fighting styles with the earlier lords using a fencing style and the later ones using a berserker/mercenary style. You’ve got some other styles scattered about like Lyn’s iaido and Sigurd on horseback (although I don’t really expect Sigurd to enter the fray, just using him as a point of reference). Sweet mercy, all I need is for Hector to make it in for axe swinging goodness. Michaiah also stands a decent chance at entry because she’s seen a small boost in popularity lately thanks to Awakening and the game is desperately low on mage archetypes.

Regarding clones, I think they’re valuable as long as they’re done right. Luigi is a great example. I didn’t think Melee Ganondorf was too bad just because what he did have was stylish enough to separate him from Falcon. I like the direction they took with Ganondorf in Brawl (except for the whole being mostly bad part). Clones like Pichu and Doctor Mario, however, really show off some poor cloning and don’t add much to the game or the character select screen. Cloning can be done right; it just needs time and patience.

People hate Ike because they get no sympathy from him.

i don’t know if this one got posted

IMO, the best stage for that is fucking Big Blue.

In Brawl, Luigi was wayyyyyyyyyy more fun than Mario. Totally disagree on Pichu, Wolf, Roy and Ganondorf, though.

Ike wasn’t a clone at all, though.

I agree, but look at how Marth actually fights in Brawl. I don’t think other Lords would be ill-served by it. This is all wild conjecture, though, we all know this shit isn’t gonna happen… :frowning:

no one wants any mario 2 enemies? Like Mouser? Or King Wart?

SMB2 is always going to be the black sheep of the family. Shy Guy is the only beloved enemy.

Birdo says hello

I’ve hardly seen anyone clamoring for a transvestite dinosaur that kamikazes her unborn children at you. She is only used when Yoshi needs someone to tag with.

Just imagine that…Birdo spits, Yoshi swallows.

Things id want:

buff luigi’s shoryuken to smash 64 status, give him a new side b
jigglypuff’s rest should actually restore life (up to%15) and given a larger hitbox
Captain falcon’s down b should have faster start-up but does less damage
Ness should have faster walk speed and pk fire should be chargable ending in a big pool of fire at max allowing for additional follow-ups
Yoshi’s b can be used while dashing, if yoshi runs into a wall or object using his side b egg roll the shell will crack (this is a nerf but its a little more realistic)
Samus charge shot can now be aimed up or down when maxed and can also be stored (perfect for AA’s) samus can also plant mines while rolling (her dodge)

I could keep going

I always wanted Ganondorf’s Warlock Punch to have super armor on it.

It’s sad how Micaiah probably has the most hate of all the Fire Emblem lords, yet is the only plausible chance for a mage.

Same goes for Roy, if I remember correctly none of his attack were better than marths beside neut B. If we can avoid this type of design I’ll welcome clones.

I think you misunderstand what I meant. Though perhaps it’s because I didn’t really make it clear. I don’t mind stage hazards per se (heck, Spear Pillar is my favorite stage in Brawl, Big Blue coming in a close 2nd), I just think there should be a better balance between stages with hazards and stages without them. Not every single stage should have something that kills you or some kind of major gimmick, but I don’t think every stage should be just a Battlefield variant either. Appeal to both sides, if you will.

I did like a lot of the Brawl stages though, I liked how creative many of the stages were (especially the Warioware one). But that also meant there were only like 6 “balanced” stages if I just wanted a fair 1 on 1 fight. I just think there should be a better balance between the two.

Though speaking of hazards…I wonder what items they’ll introduce this time around? I wonder if we’ll ever get the red shell back, that was absent from Brawl for whatever reason…

I still can’t believe they changed Mario to have FLUDD (which needs to be changed so it’s actually worthwhile) and didn’t give Luigi anything with the Poltergust. This must be remedied.
