So glad tripping is out. Die hard MELEE IS MY LIFE folk will still find something in it they don’t like and bash it for as long as they can once it releases.
I ask one thing out of the new Smash. No character unlocks. I want to play Mega Man and Wii Fit Trainer the moment I boot the game. Don’t make me play though embassy to play the characters I want
Honestly I hope they keep character unlocks. I understand why some people are annoyed by them, but I personally like going taking the time to go through the game and unlock everyone. It’s a satisfying feeling once everyone is available, especially in Melee. And a feeling that seems lost in fighting games today.
Maybe they’ll give you different ways to unlock them again like in Brawl; do this easy task to get everyone quickly, or be able to unlock them the classic way.
I doubt they’ll have the Blue Bomber locked, but I do hope they keep other locked characters in the game. I’m old school so I like the grind of running through modes to get use of all the characters. It gets more enjoyment out of the game.
Kind of expected it, since they’re meant to be two different versions and both games have completely different stages. Though it does say that there still may be connectivity between the two versions…perhaps the ability to unlock the 3DS stages on the Wii U version and vice versa? Or perhaps using the 3DS version to unlock characters on the Wii U version (e.g. you have all the characters unlocked on the 3DS version but not on the Wii U version; connect the 3DS version to the Wii U to unlock those characters). The latter would be great for tourneys, with the former it might be a problem since it’d essentially force you to have two games and two consoles to unlock everything on both.
I wonder what ideas they’ll come up with for the connectivity between the two versions though…I look forward to seeing it.
Luigi, falco, gannon, wolf and lucas annoyed me because they essentially equated to nothing more then glorified swaps that was both lazy and pointless. I wanna see original characters with unique playstyles…no more copy and paste characters.
Making falco different was not wise considering the extent to which people became fond of his playstyle
It would be like deciding to make ken play very differently. Sure, it’s an attempt to get rid of the boring common shoto style, but it would be a stupid idea at this point.
