Yeah because before this I never ever turned the items on. It’s not like I spent months with them on when I got the games at first (for every single game in the series) or anything, pay attention to the fact that I played it while really analyzing it for half an hour (mind you I said at least because I’m not sure of the exact time).
You wanna be right and be the “tolerant” one? Good for you. Well done.
Trust me, I get that. And I have zero problem with that. My problem is with people that refuse to acknowledge it as an alternative that is legitimately competitive just like itemless. I’m not partial towards itemless play mostly ‘cause I feel that removing it forces you to gut a great deal of the game in order to compensate (see both of the last games), and has the potential of causing a great deal of imbalance (coughMetaKnightcough) by doing so. But I’ll play it that way, because I still recognize it as a valid tournament format. Just like with items on. Don’t even get me started on the bullies of the Smash community that wants to destroy all alternatives. Got no fuckin’ room for that.
I akin the idea similar to the MLB. You got two styles of play that co-exist: AL and NL. AL allows for a DH in place of the pitcher for batting, NL doesn’t. They keep to themselves for the majority of the season, but when it comes down to it, they bring their game together for the final show. Similarly to my hope, there are people that don’t give two shits either way about the DH. That’s how I’d like to see Smash treated. Two co-existing communities that intertwine with each other. Problem is, one side’s willing, one’s not. Guess which is which?
Sonic wasn’t available to get out sped this time. Saddened that Waluigi won’t make it as a playable character this go round but I’m perfectly happy that’s he back to stomp mudholes, sock people with tennis rackets, and WA! people off of stages.
“Too late Bious realized his mistake. He could only look on as SonicHuman quoted his post and the “Lol’s” piled on. Sighing, he slowly closed his computer. His boner was now forever viewable to the public.”
I still say Boxing Ring has a solid chance to not be a garbage stage, items or not. It would be nice to at least HAVE a good walk-off stage to set an example for the future, and the Ring looks like it.
