Well that news isn’t so bad, if they want to sacrifice a roster with loads and loads of characters for a roster that’s still fairly sizable (30+ is pretty good) and more manageable for them, then I’ll support that.
I don’t have any links, but I’m sure you can just bring up any Smash 4 thread and see for yourself all the salt at Sakurai(without whom you wouldn’t even have a Smash Bros.) for the perceived similarities to Brawl the game has.
Honestly, I don’t care how people play the game anymore… there’s a reason why the game is so customizable, but sweet Baby Mario, there’s a certain element(similar to certain sections of the FGC and Smogon crowd) who believe that because they can stall the fuck out of people in Brawl matches/have a seizure on the GC pad playing Melee, that they deserve for the game to cater to them and only them.
Brawl sold somewhere around 7.5 million copies. Smashboards has approximately 100,000 members.
If everyone who hates Sakurai didn’t buy Brawl(which is probably far fewer than the 100k members of Smashboards), that’s still 7.4+ mil sold.
Who would I cater to if I were Sakurai and making a fun, profitable game was my main priority?
I won’t get into a rant, as I want this thread to continue to be a celebration of what’s definitely going to be a great game, and not about why Mega Man won’t be top tier because he doesn’t have regular normals or some equally silly shit.
All three newcomers are lookin very legit. Gonna have to buy a Wii U now, dammit. Just give me Peach, Marth, Roy, Mewtwo, G&W, and Falcon and I’m sold.
Also, I found this on IGN. I’m not sure if this is old or not, but it’s Sakurai’s first concept art for SSB4. This might shed some light on returning characters.
Namco better nerf the hell out of MK if he’s back. And still no sign of Yoshi…
Getting the 3DS ver. I don’t see myself picking up a Wii U unless third party support picks up for it. It would be cool if the two versions were cross compatible
They are. Pretty sure it’s been said many times that the two versions will play with each other. It’s how a lot of the 3DS/WiiU games work now anyway so I don’t see why they’d leave it out.
