Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Wii are very amused

ViciousSLASH wins for having an av of the baddest motherfucker in history.

More news… ehhhh

Man I’m sure feeling like a broken record here… Samurai Panda’s translation of what Sakurai said on the comment board —

"Sakurai starts by saying there wont be any manga characters. Then he begins talking about other companies characters to appear in the game. Among other things, Sakurai says that the character MUST have appeared on a Nintendo platform before. And to literally translate the last sentence (keep in mind this is in reference to the characters from other companies): "Anyways, at most we’ll add another 1-2 characters [after Snake], maybe?

Which doesn’t confirm anything, only that there will only be a few third party characters. That’s it. No solid number. The word ‘maybe’ kills any chance of a solid number.

And Sonic is still not confirmed for this game. Does it look good? Sure, he has better chances than anybody. Doesn’t mean it’s going to happen. Anything can happen from here to there. Companies don’t always play nice, these things seem easy to us but that’s not always the case.

Import Ergheiz maybe?

I just hope because of the fan outcry Nintendo/Hal won’t feel pressured to launch S2B2 early filled with glitches and overpowered characters. I’d rather it come out in summer 2007 than deal with some overpowered broken shit like Samus shooting a charged blast w/o charging or something because they felt obligated to bring us the game on schedule.

Metaknight infinite!

QFT x2.

I’d rather have SSBB come out for Xmas 07 if it meant having more, better-balanced characters in it.

And you, suck it up and play the Climbers.

Balance is always something nice to think about…but let’s be honest, no matter how hard and how long they may work on a game, it’s inevitable that some one will probably find some stupid glitch or two, just because the developers only have but so much foresight, planning and imagination. At that rate, you might as well suggest them putting it off until Spring 2008, and even then, it still would not be absolutely perfect.

Then there’s the other thing to consider, of course. Nintendo will want to keep the ball rolling after the Wii finally launches. Zelda and the other launch titles are phase 1, Mario and whatever-else comes out starting at the beginning of '07 are phase 2, which leaves everything else in that time frame to pick up the pace. Unless there are other solid titles which can keep the gamers busy, Nintendo is going to need another one of their heavy hitters to keep forward momentum, and that title is SSBB. That title by itself possibly has what it takes to probably move millions of Wiis across the globe.

So, it is my opinion that they’ll probably release it sooner rather than later, which may or may not mean that there will probably be a glitch or two to think of. Of course, if Nintendo sees the propsect of using the Wii’s online service, it should be just a matter of using that service as a way to administer updates (as well as new goodies like say more BGs, and possibly more extras, like chars) in the same manner that Bungie does for Halo over XBL.

That’s probably the most logical way for them to both release the game at a timely fashion, while being able to upgrade the game as the situation demands to keep a neat and tidy ship. Everyone’s happy.

Bump.

When are we gonna get some new info on this motherfucker?

…seriously.

Probably not until we get more information on the Wii which won’t be for another few weeks. Be patient, it’ll definitely be worth it.

9/14, Nintendo is doing a big thing. We’ll probably see a release date and probably some Smashy info.

Ha ha Tips & Tricks magazine wants Tatanga in it! This article appeared in their last issue under a section called “Back-Issue Bin.”

"GAME BOY - When Marvel Comics’ Editor in Chief Jim SHooter left the company in 1988 to form his own comic-book publisher, Valiant, his first order of business was to create an entire line of Nintendo-licensed comics unter the “Nintendo Comics System” brand. One of the most unusual of these short lived series is Game Boy. The stories take place in the real world and feature enemies from Super Mario Land who emerge from a Game Boy screen to wreak havoc in locations like the World Trade Center and NASA HQ…at least until Mario himself is summoned to conquer them. The main human character is a middle-aged ne’er-do-well Herman Smirch, who steals Game Boy hardware from his employer, takes pleasure in watching Mario die in Super Mario Land and even smacks the plumber into semi-consciousness with a serving tray when he encounters Mario in real life!

The greatest thing about the Game Boy comics is that they define obscure characters like the the “space monster” Tatanga ahd his right-hand man Pionpi, a kyonshi (or traditional Chinese ghost, like Darkstalker’s Hsien-ko). Tatanga was just a simple sprite in Super Mario Land, and all we learned from the game’s instruction manuel was that he wanted to marry Princess Daisy. (Hey, who doesn’t?) But in the comics, Tatanga is more than an iron-fisted ruler; he’s also an intellectually curious, eloquent speaker with a penchant for fine dining, and his attempts to win Daisy’s heart seem completely sincere.

At least four issues of Game Boy were published in 1990; The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide lists a fifth issue, but we’ve never actually seen a copy. Most, if not all, of the stories were reprinted in a series of “Nintendo Comics System Featuring…” anthology titles. Definitly worth a look; we want Tatanga as a playable Smash Bros. character!"

What Tatanga looks like -

And that’s all I got to say for now, waiting for updates like everyone else…

NINTENDO
I require MORE NEWS
IS PICHU STILL THERE!?

<-- dying for more Brawl news…

WTF is Snake going to do for most of his attacks?..Shoot a gun?

I can’t WAIT to see Peach get Famas’d in the face.

I vote they put in the Gray Fox ninja. mmm.

Yeah. Look around.

I remember reading that most of snakes moves will revolve around explosives. That no (guns, bullets) will be allowed, even tho we have energy projectiles. Also, I can see him doing his running attacks from ps2 versions.

I’d love to see a balanced version of Viewtful Joe in there.

Sonic would be fun, but nintendo would want nothing less than to see sonic whooping marios ass. Plus, how do you make a hedgehog on crack balanced? Make him scratch himself randomly?

Really, I’d love to see some more hit stun on these fucking moves. Ridiculous at any range I can hit you with marios fireball and you can recover on fire and fuck me up. Also, really bad with air combos, any low percentage, you hit and they can neutral b in your recovery, while their hitstun is at nill and they hit you while still falling in the air.

Also, yoshis egg shooting special should work like yoshi’s island for snes. his random weak egg lob is just dumb.

Yeah, if characters other than Sheik able to do combos.

Bump.

When are we gonna get some new info on this motherfucker?

…seriously.

TGS is here. Maybe it will have some news? crosses fingers

Hey I didn’t expect Captain Falcon to be able to work in Smash either, now he’s ranked 2nd tier in SSBM.

I want Nester in there…remember him? That spikey red haired kid from early Nintndo Power comics? Yeah…throw HIM in there.

According to Gamefaqs, Hideo Kojima interviewed Sakurai. Posted by Dark_zokie:

“Nothing too interesting at all yet. One bit of good information that can be taken from this is that it sounds like there is no tentative release date beyond 2007, so that should put aside rumours of it being “early” 2007. By the sounds of it, we’re going to get more details soon.”
