The codecs are fucking brilliant. Not only because of the content, but how serious they take themselves. Even better if each character has multiple codec messages too.
epic update, this seriously just left me wanting more.
The amount of Up snake got from just using his Up special was pretty cool, albiet a tad slow, but it gets the job done.
“How bout i capture one, so we can see what they taste like” < best line from those vids. No reptiles are safe from Snake’s pallete.
Maybe the Codecs are what happens in Snake’s Adventure Mode or Classic Mode walkthrough.

now i’m starting to dread what the update for tonight is going to be…2 good updates in a row? i hope we don’t get anything too lame to balance this awesome out. But i guess it doesn’t really matter much cause i’ve watched the vids at least 5 times over each lol…and i’m still enjoying them…and at least we know the homerun bat is back in

As someone stated everyone pretty much knew it was going to be Shadow Moses, but I’m just glad the stage is going to have Metal Gears busting out from the inside.
A new model hunh? It’s got to be the MGS4 Gekkous. I very much doubt they’d reveal another Metal Gear model in the game since it comes out months before MGS4.
I hope there’s one for every character at least. Those are very good, I thought when I saw them initially there could be the chance it would be in japanese, so pleasant surprise when it was in english.
I’m not entirely convinced it isn’t a reference to Rayquaza, the pokemon. Look at the pose and the appearance. But that theory does seem rather arbitrary.
This update is the best update ever. Nothing, I repeat, nothing will be able to top this shit. Hilarious codec conversations and new gameplay tidbits. And is that David Hayter doing the voice work for Snake?
Interestingly enough, I’m wondering if character intros a la N64 Smash are returning (like Mario warp-piping up or Kirby flying in). I can’t imagine Snake’s electricity/malfunctioning stealth camo being a taunt since that was his entrance in MGS2. . .it would probably be more suitable for an entrance than a taunt.

oh ho ho maaan…one can only hope that they put the entrances back in. They made the battle feel a bit more epic in a certain way. I don’t exactly know how to describe it. What would the Pokemon trainer’s entrance be? Meta Knight’s would probably be him just flyin in on his bat wings and landing. Augh!..I need to check and see how many reserves we got at the store…i haven’t done that in awhile. Hoping we have enough for a midnight release.
I too think from the update today that entrances will be re-introduced. It was something a lot of people miss from the N64 Version. 
This game looks compeltely kick-ass…as far as it’s tournament playability … who knows. It comes out the day after my birthday though so I’m pretty excited

so what do we have left…like somewhere around 45 more days left of updates? That’s taking into account the weekends. We also got something someone mentioned to look forward too this month don’t we? Isn’t smash supposed to be playable at some conference?
It looks like the kept the traditional shielding form the previous games. I saw bubbles though they looked more like the power shielded bubbles but still BUBBLES!

But yeah I’m all for the little mini intros in SSN64. It’ll be much better than like waiting for the screen to finish loading after you pick your stage and just get manhandled cause you sneezed, or soemthin’.
I can’t believe people actually thought shielding would leave. It’s one of the staples of the series.
It’s the easiest way to block attacks from any direction.
