Errr. . .if by “unique” you mean that Falco has the most effective and low-risk rushdown approach in the entire Smash cast, then yes, he’s unique. Hell, not even needles, pills, or missles come close to the craziness that is SHB. . .and those projectiles are already pretty damn good.
And I can’t see how Ness will be in Brawl. Lucas seems so similar that Ness would basically be obsolete. Plus, considering that Earthbound/Mother 3 has a very small following in the US (not sure about Europe), the Earthbound universe may get little representation in general.
MY guess is that Falco is gone. They didn’t want clones anymore and, well, if you wer e going to make a Subspace Emissary intro for Fox and NOT include Falco in that intro at the same time (like with Donkey and Diddy Kong)… well, it just doesn’t seem logical. Unless right after Fox owns up that Pokemon, Falco flies in for his intro. Either that, of course, or they don’t introduce everyone in the Subscape Emmisary.
Also, my other guess is that Captain Falcon is still in the game. The biggest giveaway to me is Samurai Goroh as an Assist Trophy. How pointless is that if Falcon isn’t even playable?
You can’t have smash…without Capn Falcon…He’s one of the characters that was there from the beginning and it’ll feel weird not hearing ‘YEEESS!!’ or…‘EERRRAAAGGGHHH!!!’ and the ever popular ‘FALCON PUNCH!’ followed by the screams of some poor unlucky character who was on the other end the attack. I’m not even worried about Falcon being in the game even though i’m wondering what taking them so long for them to make a page for him. It just wouldn’t feel right if he wasn’t in it…there isn’t another character that can take his place lol. That’s just from my POV.

…Seriously, though. I think that white shadow has the right idea–I will admit, though, that I too thought, for about two seconds, that Ness seemed pretty screwed, until I thought same thing.
Yeah, I pretty much agree with white shadow in that revamping can keep people from being none clones, even if they share a good deal of moves–it worked for Luigi.
…And I agree with him even though he insists on rekindling my murderous rage towards him.
I guess, as Blodia often attempts to predict, that we are “due” for something for Friday. It seems like they might introduce a character either tonight or Monday.
But I hate trying to predict pointless things, so we’ll see.
I hope they add large amount of assist trophies because it looks really cool. So far the little mac and Grey fox assist looks great. I hope they add more MGS assist trophies in the game (Ocelot Revolver)
