I’m so hype for this game! I’ve been waiting for it so long now and I’m glad they finally put some gameplay vids out for it. It’s one of the 3 games I’m getting a Wii for.

That demo character select may not be representative AT ALL of how the space will be used in the final version with all the characters.

yeah that stage is big alright but where’s the cage?! they better have another hyrule temple cause teching off everything was the only fun I had playing FFA.

so (possibly, even though there is a 100% chance it WONT happen, called it) nintendo put ryu in the game. its gotten to the point where nintendo has to be the one we rely on to do anything new thats street fighter related instead of capcom. I find that quite…charming?

Random thought: It’d be nice if there was an option to turn stage hazards off, like there was in One Must Fall: 2097.

just thought of some thing, if Bowser has a flinch. Insted of shield grabbing with him why not let someone hit you that way you’ll flinch and then throw them, like a flinch-throw

A flinch? Bowser has a super armor thingy? If so, you mean reg. Bowser right?

from what ive heard there giving big characters flinchs, kind of like super armor Foward was telling me about it

I hope he still has his one frame Whirling Fortress, that was the only move that made him usable and maybe the main reason he’d be usable in this game.

If this game doesn’t have L-Z canceling or some form of aerial recovery reduction, tiers are going to be really linear.

Don’t even think such crazy thoughts. z and l-canceling is what makes smash playable at high levels. I mean if Melee didn’t have l-canceling then it’d be sheik as top tier and everybody else away behind, like not even close. No I do not want to think of it!!! :shake::shake::shake:

This is a stupid statement. L canceling is needless, and if the ability to shorten your recovery upon landing by half is making the game playable at high levels, then just make all recovery 2 times as fast upon landing so people don’t have to press guard every time they land. Adding an unneeded layer of learning curve is just stupid. If the designers know its there from melee, it should become automatic for brawl. Keep it simple.

I’m sorry you can’t l-cancel Keits and I’m sorry you can’t watch the smash vids of the demo from last week. The reality is that there is still lag from recovering from an aerial, what remains to be seen is if there is a way to shorten it. You can argue whether or not aerial lag should be removed all you want but I’m talking about reality. There is lag and it is yet to be seen if you can cancel/shorten the recovery time. But that’s all I’ll say on the topic because I don’t want to think of a game where you’re force to have recovery time from aerials, no I will not think of it!!! :shake::shake::shake:

man, im still waiting on non-instant shield grabbing. That or pushback from blocking moves. For me, id rather focus on a part of the reason why people l-cancel, instead of just removing the ability alltogether. Or maybe make some moves non-l cancellable, so you think twice about spamming it or using it in a situation where you know youll get punished.

nobody has an aerial that you can spam and be safe. If they do throw a random move out there or keep spamming the same attack and doesn’t get punished then either the opponent was asleep at the wheel or the person spaced it so well that they couldn’t get punished. The closest thing is Jiggly’s wall of pain or falco and peach’s pillar but JP ain’t winning any tournies with it and there are ways to get out of a pillar. If someone does get their shield broken from a pillar then they deserve to have it broken.

never really said there was a spammable/safe air move, just saying that making some air moves, that hit hard more then likely, non-l cancellable, you would have to think more about using it.

and yeah, random moves should get punished, especially if they whiff. that goes for any fighting game. I didnt really say random moves, but neither did i specify anything, so thats a my bad on my part.
