Super Smash Bros. Brawl thread v2. wii want it now

its fair for link’s final smash to be that powerful and fast becuase, as ive read, it only hits 1 person.

im still saying how rediculous it is to claim some kind of tactic you “discovered” in a fucking demo as your own, and thus since yoiu have some sort of power in smash boards community by being awell known person, everyone else is gonna call it that and it will spread like a disease. seriously, those smash melee tards need to get a reality check. it makes me even miore digusted at the smash community than i already am.

Remember, people are going to E for All to break the game (well, some of them are), so when they find something new with intention, im sure they are gonna jump on the chance to have it named after themselves. I guess they want to be the next Wobbles.

If you look at it, nothing else in melee was named after a player (that i know of at least), so i dont think you have to worry much, cuz i doubt it will really catch on, i hope.

It’s impossible to tell from that video that Zamus’s FS doesn’t do damage because the person wasn’t standing near her. I would assume that it does some damage or that she’s at least invincible when she puts her armor back on, otherwise she easily has the worst FS so far since she would be able to be knocked out of it. (I doubt it though, since everyone else seems to have an invincible.)

And, yeah, if anything about Pit against a single opponent looks overwhelming, it’s his Final Smash, especially since he can still move around during it. That is going to be fun to fight against.

Meh. It’s damaging, but it doesn’t seem too likely to kill you unlike a lot of other Final Smashes outside maybe spiking you to Hell.

I’m more worried about Metaknight’s comboing since his range is larger than I expected or looked like it. It’s seems pretty beastly, especially since it just launches you straight up…

I think that Giga Bowser’s forward smash lacked because he raped that Shyguy with his Explosion Zen Headbutt–it’s Super Effective!

Anyway, going by the videos, yeah, the guy at Destructoid probably (intentionally) exaggerated, but Pikachu’s Volt Tackle looks easier to control than I thought since you can just go through stuff. It looks like he can immediately juggle you as well without turning around unlike Sonic. Very nice.

The videos showed that the Smash Balls can also be destroyed by Environmental Hazards–I love that pun–and eventually just flies off or drops off the screen.

Other than that, confirmation that Final Smashes can be activated in the air is nice, as was the confirmation of their ranges. The potential costumes are nice–I wonder if Ike will have an alternate one for Roy or Marth (since he’s likely replacing one of them).

look REALLY carefully. She picks up/touches something on the floor that stuns her. flash grenade? Thats all i can think.

Ike’s FS is godlike. If you can combo that thing…look the fuck out.

Ike’s attack had a pretty powerful knockback as far as I can see, and counting the approximately 70% Damage if done anywhere close 60-80% (depending on weight) it’s an insta-kill.

I’m wondering if Meta Knight’s cape startup caused a time freeze before or during the attack? It’s hard to tell but if it’s beforehand GGPO. You technically wouldn’t even need to “combo” it then, just stun them with a quick slash long enough and start the owning.

Yes, they stated that smash balls can be knocked out and taken by an opponent, which is cool.

Anyone else watch the Bowser/Mario brawl? Bowser has a Zangief like throw now! It took a good amount of life out of Mario. Bowser’s butt stomp as well has been improved and seems to have more range, overall it’s nice since I’m a hardcore Bowser player (Always went with the SSJ look in Melee).

You may be correct. I watched the video again and, though it’s difficult to tell due to the flames from Ike’s final attack, it seems like Link hits the ground hard enough to bounce straight back up (and out of the stage).

I also forgot to mention that Peach’s Final Smash is either confined to the stage or, worse yet for her, doesn’t work on jumpers. The latter seems more probable, and if it’s true, damn, she got nerfed to Hell.

There was something else…that I forgot the first time as well.

Oh! Have there been any reports of random explosions from items?

I still haven’t seen any in the demo videos, and I’m hoping that such items are now either labelled–there was a box marked “Flammable!” when Zamus uses her FS in the video–or just nonexistent.

Yep. Anything above 45% and they’re fucked if Ike does FS, at least according to people on Smash Boards. Some have even labeled it an OHKO, although it really isn’t…you just have to be at a VERY low percentage to live.

I need to invent portable stairs or something for bitches like that.

Fox’s Tank comes from the sky, so then he won’t immediately fall to his death when he actives it over empty ground. good. Also awesome, it meneuvers quite well.

Pikachuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!! I kinda wet myself how awesome his F-Smash is. He goes through barriers, it’s really fast, and unlike Sonic’s, looks like you can combo with it by hovering it in place. I’m shocked at how beauitful it looks in action.

Pit’s Final Smash is scary… to fight against. Hard to dodge bombers.

Metaknight is full of style. His F-smash is too good.

Yoshi’s F smash looks alright, nothing too fancy or too bad.

I like how the F-Smashes do not affect the flow of the battle enough to be super annoying. No annoying long ass cutscenes or long slowdowns.

damn you nintendo give us common folk a demo! even if it’s just 2 characters and one stage with a 2 minute time limit, i don’t care!

anybody else thinking that the new brand of smash has Jigglypuff pwnage written all over it?! I always enjoyed using her against nubs because of her perceived weakness and it sounds like a slower closer to N64 might be in her favor as long as she’s close to what she was in melee. /crosses fingers JP is in

Jigglypuff would hate to get hit by Final Smashes in this game. I estimate that Meta Knight’s and Ike’s Final Smash can KO from 0% if she’s still Melee light and floaty.
