Tigerboi: lol. People always bring up that argument
But you can customize the game to be played anyway you like.
Fact.
Also my sources come from smashboards and gamefaqs from people who went to E for all and actually played the demo. Players who have a good grasp of advanced techs. Most of them go to smashboards.
what’s the problem with dash dancing in brawl? my god if dash dancing is nerfed how the hell are we going to approach anyone. Brawl is just going to be people chucking items at each other, but then people will master power shielding and then we’ll be force to just stare at each other and run the time out.
I heard people had some serious issues trying to dash dance. Then again you have to double tap the directional pad on the wiimote to dash so that may have been why.
But if dash dancing is nerfed even with the gamecube controller then all hope for this game is basically lost on a competitive level.
I mean l-cancelling gone even pissed off alot of casual players on gamefaqs.
Melee was so good, why didnt Sak just build and improve on that instead of change everything which will probably make the game crap. Oh on a side note, im so happy to see that SMG is being orchestrated instead of using the cheap ass midis BS like brawl is using. Man everyday its like brawl is turning worse…
God help us all. I mean seriously wtf is this momentum dodge shit. “OMFG i just momentum dodged passed you and you got crossed up, bitch! oh wait i forgot smash isn’t like other fighting games, the shield works in all directions, as well as dodge and there’s moves that hit backwards as well, dang that cross up didn’t work as well as i hoped!”
Even though it’s Thursday and thus it seems like wavedashing is indeed done for, I didn’t think you most people would bitch this much. I mean, fucking Zombie Jesus, maelstorm is the only intelligent person talking about the negative effects of lack of wavedashing to the game.
I have once again underestimated the infinite power of human stupidity and pettiness.
Well you can’t exaclty beat around the bush, as it stands brawl is looking to be pretty crappy from a competitve stand point. I dont like a lot fo what im hearing about the gameplay…i mean its freaking slow from what i heard.
but guys, COME ON, according to you all the game won’t be great in high level competitive play based on a the accounts of people who haven’t even played the game for a week.
You can not possibly know that until the game comes out.
I don’t care about the competitive smash scene, but the logic being used here just doesn’t make any sense.
It’s not like people knew about gaurd crushes as soon as MVC2 came out. I mean, come on.
Melee should have build on the concepts melee introduced to create a even better game. Sakurai is leaping backwards with the design of this game, I mean at this point the game will be more primitave then smash64. Its about rogressing forward…not leaping backwards dudes.
I actually thought of a good way he could work in Brawl.
Firstly he’d need some unique abilities.
He could have air blocking (you can’t turn directions in the air without doing another jump right?) so basically holding back would do that manuveur if attacked.
He could also do parries. Notice that in melee, the shield sometimes deflects attacks (projectiles but still), maybe they could implement that into his system and say “quick taps” would enable him to do it and put the attacker in a freeze frame ala Peach’s Castle with those damn switches. This I think would be abused so im still thinking.
Attacks
We all know his stupid hadouken is a standard B attack. Shakunetsu would be tapping B twice. Slower but more powerful. Shoryuken…DUH Up B.
Side B I think should be the Joudan kick from SF3. I dont see Tatsu working on that factor. Have it move a moderate distance across the field.
Instead we could have that Tatsu as his Down B. You can have it stationary or move left or right to move him those directions. Tapping it twice would allow him to rise in the air a little like mario’s tornado punch.
