Super Smash Bros. Brawl thread v2. wii want it now

Fullscreen Rest!:looney:

Another sleeping FS?

who cares how many wiis are sold?

and i think jigglypuff’s FS should be her flying around the screen drawing on everyone’s face…i dont even care if it kills anyone…i jus think it would be funny :|…

or better yet…if some of the pokemon’s FS were to evolve :x

yeah no prob. you must have been confused to quote a post with a link to an article that was only talking about Brawl sales in Japan but proceed to talk about wii sales in America. Yup you were certainly confused because the only interesting discussion on the matter is that Galaxy is underselling in Japan, so will Brawl follow suit in Japan? Galaxy is selling like hot cakes in America, early reports says that demand for NMH is exceeding the initial supply in America and any American journalist can call around game shops and see preorders for Brawl are high so questioning the sales of Brawl in America is certainly a stupid and unintersting discussion.

It’s alright though, next time you’re having trouble remembering that America and Japan are two different places just remember that America in the big country filled with different colored but usually fat people located in the middle of Mexico and Canada as well as surrounded by the Pacific and Atlantic ocean and Japan is the small island near Korea filled with yellow people that look the same.

Sometimes America has Skinny nerds with Yellow Skin though… this is sometimes misdiagnosed as “Jaundice” but the online community refers to it as “Yellow Fever.” If you can’t tell the difference between Japan and America, then you have the yellow fever.

One of these things is not like the other.

BTW, I can’t wait for Japan release of Brawl. I want to know the rest of the characters plus their movesets.

Ah yes, yes. My mistake. I guess you weren’t talking about the subject I brought up, so I shouldn’t have even bothered replying to you in the first place. Run along, kthxbai.

The Wii isn’t selling game in America because people are buying it because it’s just the thing to have this year, was my initial statement. Anybody who actually wants to question the accuracy of my allegation with something that doesn’t start with “well…in JAPAN…” can go ahead.

That’s good, I’d pick up Jiggly if that was it’s FS.

Another cool variant could be Jigglypuff jumps on the screen and with Wii mote or control stick, the player is able to draw stuff that stays on there for a long while. Damn, I feel like watching an episode of Pokemon now.

Dunno about that, it seems like every playable Pokemon that has had there moves revealed have just had some of their stronger moves from the game. What did Jigglypuff do in the Pokemon games, it has been a while.

I know that there have been debates before and discussion on this whole topic, but since these erroneous beliefs keep on popping up, it bears some repeating: wavedashing does not break Melee.

If you want an example of a technique that completely breaks and ruins a game, look at Mario Kart DS. Snaking (if you don’t know) is turbo boosting left and right as fast as possible in order to achieve maximum speed on straightaways. The end result of this is that snaking is REQUIRED in order to win. If you don’t snake, you WILL lose against someone who does.

That is an example of a game-breaking technique, because 1) not only is snaking limited to certain characters/karts (extremely light characters and about 2 karts out of a huge number of options), but 2) refusing to snake will invariably make you lose.

Wavedashing is nowhere near snaking’s level of brokenness. Not only is wavedashing available for all characters (though overall efficacy varies between characters, and isn’t tier-based), wavedashing isn’t required to win. If you don’t wavedash, you may be not be as versatile, but it certainly won’t doom you to an inevitable loss. Ken (one of the top 5 smashers in the world) usually doesn’t wavedash with Marth–that’s a common example of how important–or unimportant–wavedashing really is. You don’t need it to win.

Other points, just to make this clear: Luigi has the best wavedash in the game, but he’s mid-tier. If wavedashing were so broken, he’d be unbeatable, but he’s fairly mediocre. Sheik is 3rd or 4th best in the game, but all of her good stuff (f-tilts -> f-air, needle cancelling, speed, great KO moves, edgeguarding, etc.) aren’t reliant on wavedashing.

I don’t see how you can make the claim that wavedashing breaks Melee.

WOOOO!!! I wish i could give ya rep lol. Too bad ITP had to fight people who didn’t seem to know what they were doing but oh well…more vids is better than no vids!

Last time I talked to the Nintendo rep he said that before Brawl comes out that the full game was going to be playable in the wii systems…I don’t know if he’s gonna re neg on that now but rest assured…WE WILL get Brawl in the kiosks in some shape or form before the game is released…when it shows up at my place I will attempt to let you guys know.

Now what’s all this bullshit I’m reading about Wii being a fad? I’ve had to deal with the customers at gamestop…IT…IS…NOT…A…FAD. I could probably understand people thought that it was a fad in the beginning…but the Wii is no fucking joke. Since DAY 1 at my store when the Wii was launched the longest that they’ve been on the shelf has been at the most 4-5 days…and that was during the summer. It’s been over a year…if you still think the Wii is a fad then I’d like you to answer Gamestop’s phone calls and tell me how many of them are Wii related. Another example that the Wii is not a fad is the fact No More Heroes fuckin sold out at my store. That game is definitely NOT for mainstream. I’m not a nintendo fanboy either but it annoys the heck out of me when people call the wii a fad and just don’t seem to acknoledge all the stuff that surrounds this system. -_-

anyone planning to buy the jpn version of brawl to get a head start?

Good post, but I thought Pikachu had the best wavedash? Pikachu’s wavedash: I guess you can say wavedashing is required for higher level play, like Roll Canceling. Since WD isn’t in brawl can someone explain what a Waveland is?

Snaking was why I quit playing Mario Kart DS, and I hope like hell they don’t have it on Mario kart for the Wii. :shake:

How do you predict or have an opinion on how you think that parry thng in the will work inside of the possible metagame? If I were to give my educated guess this Smash Bros it seems you can be more open to mistakes and still pull off a win. D3’s chain grab is hella cool…but we will never know how good it is until we get the real game. People judged Ike too harshly at first but now he seems to be a real gladiator now. His utilt has proven this, and with proper spacing I think he will be vicious. Koopa, well you already know how I feel about my boy. He looks like he will also be raping. Although I’m upset I did not see any Bowser suicides in the videos. His F+B not having lag and grabbing D3 was just too good for me to even open my mouth. I did finally see him angle his fire breath, but I can expect playing on the wii-mote is very stupid. I’m glad his bowser bomb can actually kill you now, and that it has massive pushback potential. I see a lot of the OG Bowser players that retired can easily mindgame somebody into rolling into it like around 90% or more killing characters like Fox, Metaknight, Peach with it. I kinda wish I saw a Pikachu who actually knew what they were doing cuz I’m trying to sum it up to see if he really is back to his old self. Anyhow all these vids only show me that the overall way it’s played is 100% different from both other games.

Super Smash Bros Brawl: Fight For the Future? >.> lol…Let’s get it on now.

^ pfffft…Link’s final smash? PARRY THAT SHIT!

theres a type of parry system in Brawl? o_O Or am I not getting a joke:shake:

I’m not sure what exactly it is…but it’s has something to do with the character being in the air.

I heard it was a counter. Frame timing should be really strict.

If you time your air dodge perfectly then you’ll do a reversal. So unless the timing is incredibly strict, then this will probably be one of the more abused tactics.

lame update. “this is the menu housing things we’ve already shown you!”

olimar in action. not much of a vid, but I don’t think there’s been one of olimar yet.

Yea, that shit is wack. He’s really trying to save off “real” updates, now.

Wow, that Nintendog is on the screen for far too long.
