I hope the big characters are viable in this game, but right now I’m totally undecided about who I’m going to play. Also, I hope they keep pushing the game back until summer so I don’t have to wait until break to play it while everyone is figuring stuff out about the game.
I don’t even have a Wii yet man, and I really don’t feel like camping somewhere to get one.

Lots of talk about a roster leak from 2chan (apparently not 4chan?) today. I’m pretty sure that despite the pictures of the character select screen and the disc, the leak is fake.

And here’s the description of the supposed “leaked” roster as well as the picture and video of the character select screen (with only starters)
A few things wrong with the leak:
*The Zelda select portrait is different from the one previously shown on the dojo (in one of the coop updates) and now has Shiek in the picture too. This might just be something they didn’t want to show us until Shiek was revealed, but it seems a little odd to me anyway. (Personally I prefer the select screen that shows Zelda & Shiek.)
*Some people on smashboards have said that the announcer in the video is the same sample used in melee, not a new announcer.
*The “leaked” roster includes R.O.B. as a playable character, but the NES R.O.B. has already been shown to be a part of subspace emissary, and the Starfox Rob64 was shown as a trophy collected in the coin launcher.
*My big concern is that though they took a pic of the supposed starting roster, no one has bothered to take pics of the previously unannounced characters, even though people know that THAT’s what would get people’s attention. If you have the final version and are unlocking characters, why only take a pic/vid of the character select screen before you’ve unlocked anything and not once you’ve got some more characters?
Now this roster could be legit, and I’m happy to be proven wrong, but I’ve seen so many fake rosters in the last month that I’d rather just wait til I see legit pics of the character select screen and the characters in action.

Yeah, the picture of the big select screen is a mock-up of the supposed leaked roster. No one is claiming that pic is actually real.

That is a lie. Someone just needs to leak this shit already. It’s great to see that De3 and some of the more interesting new characters are unlocked right away.
If I remember correctly, Sakurai (or someone that high up) already said no Megaman.

Theres supposed to be three right, theres already two announced.
I can think of characters that would fit, but I really can’t predict what that crazy mofo Sakurai is gonna do. I’m kinda hopeful for Bomber-man.
Bomberman, Pacman, or Megaman would be dope.

Actually, we were never guaranteed three. When asked about 3rd party characters in addition to Snake, Sakurai said, “Maybe 1 or 2 more at most”
So Sonic and Snake may be all we get.

Most likely candidates by far are either Pac-Man or another Sonic character.
The chances of anyone else are like less than 1%.
