I can only image the most dedicated players pushing this character to any respectable level (like Chudat with ICs) This micromanaging seems to be based that your opponent won’t attempt to stay on your ass all day.
The way I see it it’s hard to micromanage and not get your ass kicked by a good player, especially if the Pikmin are random and can die, but we’ll see how it turns out, I might be pleasantly surprised.
The worst revelation is that your recovery is dependent on the amount of Pikmin in your posse. So certain freedoms like throwing a Pikmin as a defensive maneuver so you can keep your opponent occupied before recovery is a no no.
All I need to know no is his neutral B Special to get a full gist of this unique character.
They stated that the yellow Pikmin “Shoots farther” than the rest, since he didn’t specifically say throw like he usually does, this makes me think the St.B is some sort of shooting attack with each Pikmin type.
I assume he grabs the first one in the row and lets loose a volley or something.
Zeld leak is pretty cool, hope Shiek is a bit nerfed this go around. It was too easy to win with shim.
Well, a while back, Eiji Aonuma (the current director of the Zelda series) said that he contributed designs to Sakurai for Link, Zelda, Shiek, and Ganondorf and that he specifically updated Shiek to match the twilight princess style. Seems like Shiek is a safe bet.

EDIT: Also, the same magazine article that confirmed Zelda’s final smash also lists razor leaf as ivysaur’s side-special, and water gun as squirtle’s neutral special.
The Zelda news is interesting, if not a bit disappointing. Call me one of those people who likes to play BOTH Zelda/Shiek instead of “ZOMG Transform to gud char + win!” players. I hope Zelda is balanced better, so that she’s used as often as Shiek was in Melee Matches.
Well, Olimar has piqued my interest. Just like how someone compared him to Eddie (but Olimar can’t possibly be THAT broken), he’s probably going to be a set-up based character. I’m thinking someone along the lines of Venom with his pool balls or Bridget with his yo-yo setups.
If nothing else, Olimar will be difficult as hell to play, just because he’ll be extremely vulnerable to rushdown. Pressure Olimar, and he won’t have time to pluck out Pikmin, and he’s basically screwed. Imagine a Falco vs. Olimar match.
It depends. If you can afford it, I would pay for the highest quality shipping you can afford, otherwise you might end up waiting a week or more, and by then, you might as well wait for the US version.
I paid top-tier shipping at play-asia, so, with HK rules in effect, I expect to get the game no later than the 24th, if not sooner.

Going over the card, I have to agree with SamuraiPanda at Smash Boards…it’s quite literally IMPOSSIBLE to read that text on that card scan, and what little you can see is most definitely NOT a move list that confirms “Twilight Change”.
Once some one gets a better scan, this will probably be more put to rest. But I’mma need more than a bad quality scan and merely taking some one’s word for it to positively confirm Sheik.

I wonder if the Pikmin are going to have their own shield as well like nana does…cause if not I’m gonna go ahead and say that Sonic is gonna rape his line by just rolling through everyone.

I’m also wondering if at the start of the match is Olimar going to be butt naked, start out with at least 2-3, or have his full army. If it’s the latter 2 then I think it could even be possible to hold off characters who try to pressure Olimar all day. Everytime he gets some type of knock back he could pluck out 1-2 pikmin. I can also see the purple pikmin as a way of preventing sweet spotters…especially if they work anyway how do in the game.
Well, it’s hard to say. We don’t know how fast his pikmin pluck is, or if the pikmin still come out if it’s interrupted. If you interrupt it and pikmin still come out, then he can amass an army as you’re whailing on him. Also, we don’t know how many hits (or how much %) pikmin can take before they die. It might be a high enough percent to keep him in pikmin if you’re relatively good about it. We’ll have to wait and see.
In Pikmin 2, the yellows are electric, and none of them can carry bomb rocks. They still fly farther when thrown, both in Pikmin 2 and in SSBB.
…oh wow…never actually thought about that…>.>…kirby plucks a pikmin and then uh…errr…maybe when he copies olimar, another of his special moves gets replaced…that’s the only way how i could see it working at the moment.
lol I never even thought of that! I would find it hilarious if Kirby sucks up both Olimar and his entire platoon. YUMMY! Olimar’s B Special is probably something generic (pistol/ rocketship) that wouldn’t allow Kirby to utilize the Pikmin or some similar limitation.
I have to put Capt. Olimar in the same category as Pokemon Trainer, “either/or.”
