Sorry, this has probably been asked before. What is going on with the updates?
They’re taking a break until this Monday.
To me, Ike getting buffed in such a way is fine. He’s still a power-house that stands to drawf even Bowser, and he stands to have a way better moveset than Roy ever did. I may have to look into him further.
But Kirby is the star attraction with this update. So far, the best things I’ve heard are:
- His Dash+A move is now his “Yo-yo Spiral Dash” from Kirby Super Star (which is WAY better than his lame fireball dash from Melee)
- No one can escape from his back throw any more
Man, oh man…the 24th of this month is so close…and yet so far…me wants my import NAO
Dashing attack on Kirby is the Break Spin from his Yo-Yo form. And yeah his back throw is way beefed now, he can effectively end a fight near the edge if he has a stock ahead of his opponent.

Dedede looks awesome. And I think his commercial spot definitely does more to confirm him as a starter.
His “chillaxing” taunt looks like something I could see myself busting out in matches.
Same commerical, but that’s to be expected. The first one is of better quality anyway.
That commerical seems to confirm that Dedede’s puff state is just normal jump mode, that or he at least just has multiple jumps like Kirby.
I really wish this game would just come out, especially since I payed for it in September…I’m hyped though
HA i was going to play Ike regardless so this means i can actually beast now. Oh and Pokemon Trainer looks fun. Cant wait!!!

Dedede has multiple jumps! They may be small but they look like they could help with his maneuverability.

Ike seems to have some cool Eruption move, maybe it was shown before cuz I’m having deja vu.

Seeing Giga Bowser wreck and entire stage is nice.
That SNES Smash Brawl trailer looked like it took a lot of work, very impressive.
And one thing that has been bothering me about “Ike” still since his main problem’s been fixed: How are we supposed to actually pronounce his name? I know that pretty everyone calls him “Ike” like the American name, but that just stinks of the horrible U.S. pronounciations of “Ryu”.
Shouldn’t it be “E-kay”? Or it just supposed to be a vaguely European-ish name considering that “Marth” and “Roy” (assuming that those are the actual names in the Japanese games) are somewhat the same way (and the setting of the Fire Emblem games is exaggerated medieval)?

It’s “Ike” the same way the other names are pronounced “Roy” and “Marth” and so on. Their names have an English base.
