Normal Health and stun would be a godsend. Though everyone knows that’s just wishful thinking
Some notes about changes to Ryu, Balrog, Viper (barely anything about her though), Cammy & Guy in SSFIV AE, those aren’t Akuma related, but they sure as hell will effect his matchups:

At first I was like WTF with all those frame advantage buffs, then I read:
If TK canon strikes are truly gone, I’d imagine this would be a huge nerf to Cammy’s pressure game which would be awesome for Akuma. (it doesn’t seem that it’s totally gone though, just can’t be done as low as it’s possible now)
That’s great, I’m assuming it’ll be in range to punish with far standing HK, safe jumps are even better now.
Guy:
I don’t know how much this will effect Akuma’s matchup, but I loved pressuring Guy with far roundhouse and cr. mp, but it seems like his cr. lk will counter hit it now with the faster startup.

So you know, Akuma can already punish with a full double roundhouse combo on block.
There’s plenty of time to step forward and do it, and the rest of the cast have time to dash into standing or low fierce and then cancel combo with whatever they desire. So I don’t follow what good purpose the change is for.
All Cannon Spike strengths are -30 on block, so pushback isn’t really an issue. The only exception is when she LK spikes meaty or from the tip of its range so it connects on the later active frames, leaving it virtually unpunishable in most cases. Wasn’t a big deal IMO.
The Cammy community may even decide to consider that a buff, since it would have closer positioning on a knockdown.
Yeah you’re right, I meant that it’ll probably be a bit easier to punish with the far HK directly now, I usually fuck up when I want to walk in and punish moves that push you far away to punish 'em directly, so I often just reset her when she’s landing with the far roundhouse or I’d be far away to connect lk or lp if the far roundhouse connected, so I usually just act like a retard and just sweep giving up free damage lol
Try walking up and performing an hk tatsu. Good damage + a knockdown.
why hk tatsu when it’s EASY to actually take 2 steps forward and s.hk into a full combo ending with a sweep? Just take some practice in training mode, it’s gonna come out naturally once you do it a few times

I play Akuma, so next week isn’t a big wait for me. But man I feel sorry for the people that use Guile and whoever else is on the list of the last costume pack.
On Cammy im pretty sure you can dash forward s.hk and instead of linking into a c.mp or what have you, you can link into a s.hp.
Deals that much more damage which can help close out that matchup alittle quicker.

I hope they make akumas stun output better (or vanilla like) for AE, thats the only change i want to see, everything else is fine if you ask me. i wouldnt mind getting the vanilla teleport back but the super teleport keeps you honest.
well ryu will have less active frames on his c.mk…that alone is a huge nerf. Who uses fs.hk and fs.mp with ryu anyways?? who gives a fuck if they got buffed. I’m pretty sure ryu users would have been happier without those “buffs” (sans ex tatsu glitch) but keeping their old c.mk

No one uses them because they aren?t special cancelable, however, they will be so people WILL use them, I?m sure ryu scrub #29784598745 wont but you can bet your ass that diago will, special cancelable means he will be ultraing from far standing mp close mk and close hk. Bet on it!
As for the mk “nerf” all they said is “less active frames” that just means less cr.mk spam from ryu players, it work be godlike anymore it?ll just be a regular normal (much like ours). Akumas mk reaches far but it lacks priority and active frames, I honestly predict that they make it like akumas minus the reach.
Ryu got buffed if you ask me. Definitely less noob friendly, due to the lack of cheap escapes and lack of mk spam. I guess scrubby/online ryu users are going to have to learn their footsie! its about time if you ask me.

I really don’t think it’s that much of a big deal if a move gets the ability to be special cancelable when there are already better alternatives, why would Ryu use far medium punch which I’d assume would whiff on most crouching opponents when he can use his cr. mk which has the same startup, is a low attack and has longer reach? His close standing medium kick is already special cancelable and I barely ever see it being used (cr. hp gives better stun and damage). Fei Long will probably get a special cancelable cr. mk from what I’ve read, now that’s a very nice buff to Fei players because as far as I know they do not have a low attack poke with decent range that’s special cancelable at the moment.
I don’t know how his close standing HK will link into Shoryuken because at the moment it pushes you way too far away to be able to link an SRK with it.
People are pretty upset in the Ryu forums and consider him to be nerfed overall, IMO those buffs are nothing compared to losing the active frames on his cr. mk, to me that’s like Akuma getting a couple of extra recovery frames on his DF palm, which is a BIG deal, I’ve always felt a huge difference with how Ryu’s cr. mk connects to stuff compared to Akuma’s cr. mk which has lower active frames.
Lets see if there’s any possibility that capcom will buff Akuma a bit or they’ll screw him even more.

My money is on capcom screwing akuma even more.
cs.hk is a decent frame trap as it stands currently and can also snuff out tech attempts. fs.mp has very good reach and connects on a lot of crouching opponents. I wouldn’t write these changes off yet based purely on speculation. These new options add more to Ryu’s up close game which can only be a good thing, assuming of course people adopt them into their game.
The c.mk and tatsu nerfs are the real negative changes. c.mk I’m curious about. I wonder if it puts it on par with Akuma’s now? This suggests perhaps the footsies game between Ryu and Akuma might change a little.
