When are pools announced??
I am about to register, but on Saturday the 29th I have to take my sister to the SJ Airport. When and how will the pools be announced? I need to know when I have to drop off my sister and make it to my SSIV pool.

The brackets will be drawn after reg closes on that Friday night. Contact me via PM to discuss further. Maybe we can place you in a certain time slot so that you can attend.
Justin Wong has confirmed he will be in attendance.
I wonder if he can do the Beat the Pro thing
PM’ed
John, can you tell us how many people signed up so far for SSF4 and SFHDR so far?
The numbers now are not really representative. They will be more accurate after early bird reg ends on the 20th as people notoriously sign up at the last minute.
Example is last NCR, there was about 40 people signed up for SF4 before pre-reg. That shot up to 150 on the day pre-reg ended.
This may seem like a massive noob question, but i’m assuming we’re expected to bring our own sticks?
And if we don’t have any, are we out of luck or are there some “public” sticks we could use? Never been to one of these so I have no idea, really. I’m completely terrible on a pad so…
Yes you should bring your own stick as there is no dedicated public stick for use. But people are pretty friendly and it probably should not be hard finding a personal one to borrow.
Yo Haunts,
Here are my top 5 request (in no particular order)
Looking forward to this event for sure!
Just found out I won’t even be in California during these dates and I already registered, spent $50 on registration (for 3S, CvS2 and SSF4 plus the normal registration price).
Is there any way I can get that refunded?
azuritereaction: I’ve just refunded all of your fees. Please notify me via PM if this doesn’t show on your end.
Yep, I got em. Thanks a lot, I really wanted to go to this but found out an hour or so after I registered that i’d mixed up my dates. Next year I guess.
Hey John and NCR staff, could it be possible to use http://www.tonamento.com for NCR this year? or any other method of posting all the standings after the tournament?
Good idea. I’ll look into this.
Only problems I see with using Tonamento are
-you can’t add late players
-manual seeding/floating is a bit difficult.
However, I think Tonamento is catered to larger tournaments such as this one, and, if more and more large tournaments use Tonamento, the seeding (by skill) should be all but automatic and correct.
oh im soooo slappin ncr then. my hero. the wong master. king of the blaaakaa blaaaka himself.
wheres the monsta at, we need training sessions!!! i’m chuckin’ rocks at everybody.
West Coast Warzone 2 and KS2 use Challonge. It is nice to use for events that use mutliple Pools, you can add late entries, and you can seed manually. And when it gets to top 8 or whatever, the online audience can see the brackets updated live.
For all practical purposes Challonge has seemed to out perform Tonamento. It just has flashier things such as an overall nationwide ranking system (which will never be accurate until every event in the world uses it).
