@chadouken It seems like a lot of much needed quality of life adjustments as well as adding modes/features that should have been there from jump.

You gonna finally pick it up??
I’ll play with you if you do!
Considering I don’t like online multiplayer that isn’t a very appealing offer. Lol
SMM is much more of a spectator sport to me. I love seeing people’s creativity and the players going through a gamut of emotions because of the makers creativity.

So Wario Land’s Shake/Cuphead graphics with @Chadouken and @ReggieH making the levels is the only 2D Mario game I’ll except after Mario Maker goodness.

I was hoping the update would add something else besides multi player. Still hoping we get Mario 2 as DLC. Image making mario kaizo levels in Mario 2. Theres so much you can do by throwing enemies, or riding birdo eggs.

Mario 2 is such a different type of game though, I doubt it would get added. It’s also not a Mario game in Japan.

I feel like all the characters having pretty different performance stats and abilities puts a real dent in that dream to.
I mean, they created the whole “Extra Themes” section specifically for SM3DW because it doesn’t jive with the core 4 elements, so adding SMB2 isn’t out of the realm of possibilities from a technical standpoint.
As far as it not being in Japan, I believe later iterations like All-Stars and the various DS versions are available there. And there is a HUGE Wareham demand for it. Maybe they could call it Doki Doki style?
Yeah, I mean, it’s certainly possible of course, and the 3DW being a totally separate theme certainly is a good point.
Crotchpuncha brings up a good point about characters with different abilities, though, and I hadn’t really considered that.
I wonder if they’ll bring in another 3D style game like Galaxy or Odyssey. Or maybe 6 Golden Coins could be awesome, with the greyscale coloring!

Did we get yet Super Mario Land style? I assume not but I will hope still
I doubt they do that since we already have the Powerball powerup, with the theme music. To me it seems like that’s going to be their nod to that game instead of making it a complete style. But it would be dope if they do it anyway!
Mario Land 1 or 2 would be great…maybe in SMM3

you also cant play as peach, the only way Mario 2 would work if they just made everyone jump the same, and dig or pick up the same.
Also Mario 2 U.S. was released in japan on the Mario all stars for snes. So maybe it can happen.
