So this was my rejected piece for the Mega Man tribute art book. When I found out I wasn’t in the book I was kind of emo about it at first but once I saw other really good ones that also got rejected I didn’t feel as bad. Also looking at some of the winners I already saw some of what was missing in mine. Most of the winners all took a creative spin on the character while mine is more or less a reproduction of all the incarnations. It’s all good though. I had fun making it and it was one of the things that actually got me drawing again so good things came of it regardless.
Wow, I really can’t believe this one didn’t get in! I was going to post my attempt at it, but it would’ve just looked embarrassing compared to yours. I shouldn’t even have bothered to try if this didn’t get in!
This really was an amazing piece though. I think it is an accomplishment in itself in doing what you did. The level of detail and overall coloring you put in is top tier work. The layout especially, and overall flow was really well handled.
Anyway, here’s hoping theres another book in the works (CAPCOM MEGAMIX TRIBUTE?) for you and all of us to get in to have at least one moment in time…
