Super Fighting Robot Mega Man 11! Release TOMORROW!

Y’all got me agreeing with this dude, and I can’t stand this dude’s opinions most of the time:

Legends isn’t separate. Legends is the far future of the timeline.

How So? The remains of X put down the foundation so someone/something could build Volnutt?
I didn’t bother looking into that far into the ZX contrivancy

That some Hideo Kojima level contrivance

The supplementary materials established that Legends takes place several thousand years after all the other mainline games. In the Zero games heavily imply that Ciel develops the refractors, the main source of energy in the Legends games. Zero games planted the seeds of reploid/human hybrids. A development that receives greater focus on the ZX series when it introduces biometals and the hybrids are commonplace. This falls in line with Legends 2 where it’s revealed the entire human population is artificial with Volnutt and Data safeguarding the only remaining pure human genetic code.

I’ve lost hope that the x series will ever end and get tied to Z but for those saying x5 is what should of lead into Z…no.

The Z series explains very clearly what happens at the end of the x series. The major events that need to happen for X to truly end are:
The discovery of cyber elves, Dr Weil shows up , steals zeros body and creates omega, the elf wars happen and then then x and zeros copy bodies send omega back into space. Then finally x sacrifices himself to seal the dark elf and zero goes to sleep. Its not terribly complicated. They could pull it off in two games.

The ending of X5 does that. Zero dies in most of the endings. That gives Weil a body to steal and the necessity for Zero to have a copy. The continuation of the X series after X5 is what fucked the back story of the Zero games.

I think my brain has broken now.

thanks @Sonichuman

Thanks, everyone. Until that I had no idea how utterly stupid the Mega Man story actually is.

Yeah man, Japanese video games are weird.
The Mega man legends origin story is just clown shoes

Well…again, no. It wouldve been nice had the series ended there but it didn’t so the canon is at X8. The event that transition X to zero is the elf wars and I still think they could easily make x9 a segway into a final game which would be just that. I just don’t really know if anyone really cares at all anymore to even get a new X game. Even if they did announce an X9, capcom would have to do something really drastic to impress me.

or just make X9 retcon out X6 though X8 as well as X zero and ZX and the lame connection to Legends. I prefer Legends to be unconnected to the X and OG time lines

In the “100%” ending actually, Zero survives and get himself frozen on a capsule because “zero virus too dangerous” blah blah blah. So it makes the stealing of the original body quite simple…as for the copy tho…nobody knows where it came from.

It would been nice if things ended with X5 like it should. I’m fine not having an X game depict the elf wars. It’s not like we ever got a classic Mega Man game that lead into the X series.

I’m indifferent, but I would be pleased if they actually made a game connecting classic to X and X to zero. Like, fuck off capcom. They dragged them out for way too long. sacrificed quality and continuity and then just let it die. Even with megaman 11…sure, I guess. I’m sure itll at least be a decent game but I’d much rather get a new series that stands alone such as battle network or whatever. A reboot. I don’t care. I just want the series to either:

  1. End on a positive note
  2. Continue as something NEW

Well you keep posting trying to troll. And I find that utterly stupid and a waste of time.

He isn’t wrong though.

…Again, we are extremely unlikely to ever get a bridging game for any of the gaps in the series, at least at present, for various reasons. Not saying you’re wrong to want it but, again, X5 is the closest we ever got and it should tell you something that it was basically immediately ignored given that X6 was shamelessly shat out only about (less than) a year after. [/simplest way to say it]

I do remember raising an eyebrow at this when I found out about the connection (two?) years ago, but it’s hardly the weirdest or silliest plot any of us have heard about, all things considered. If nothing else, then I personally find it “neat” how all of the sub-series save for Battle Network being connected shows just how much Dr. Light and Dr. Wily end up fucking up the world as a whole.

Totally out of left field here but even though I like starforce, this still bugs the SHIT outta me: BN used classic Megaman as a basis for all its characters…why didn’t SF use the X series?

It just seemed like the natural succession. After all SF is the successor sequel to be BN, like X was to classic. Either way, I think both spinoff series were fantastic. Battle Network 2 and 3 are the fucking shit.

Seriously what does Po add to anything here other than bitching and never actually doing anything about it? Talk all you want. But what good does it do if it’s not going to change a thing?
