Super Dream Battle 2DF 3S Tourney - Which direction should it go in?

I want to streamline this monthly tourney; make it better i guess. I realize it might be hard for people to be available for 2-3 different dates that I pick out of the month for this thing. I either want to set it up so that it takes place in 2 days back to back like Sat & Sun or chage the format around. If it changes drastically then it could be helf like every other weekend or something, i dunno.

Ive been listening to some of the denjin podcasts and I might be thinking about having the quals single elim. including losers bracket. and the final between winner of winners & winner of losers 2 out of 3. Then I guess when the finals come around the 3v3 teams just have it single elim.

What do you guys think? Especially people who’ve already participated in this.

EDIT: I think it should be more single elim style. But Im not decided on whether the rounds should stay or have it in 1 day or two back to back or whatever. Time shouldnt be an issue so maybe Ill opt for one big tourney in a 1 day format. Let me know what yous think if at all. :stuck_out_tongue:

America is used to 2 out of 3 double elim. Japan is used to 1 mtch single elim. Im probably just gonna combine the concepts. Still have losers bracket but only 1 match except grand final which will be 2 out of 3. thx for all your input. :arazz:

You must be able to host as well, no exceptions.

Players should be allowed to switch characters after they lose since almost every tourney in the US has this rule. Having to stick to the same super was kind of dumb too.

I like the Japanese rule of sticking with one character, because it promotes putting forth the best gameplay out of your character and therefore having the highest level matches. Doesn’t really matter in little internet tourneys though.

I think it should stay the same because it’s really just for fun, so have people play as much as possible :slight_smile:
