Gamespot has a new video up of Super DBZ, including some gameplay and an interview with the producers of the game. I find it funny they say Cyborg Freeza was a whole new original character created for the game, then the fat guy says that Cyborg Freeza in the game is a vision of what Toriyama had in mind he wasn’t destroyed right away.
One thing that sounds weird to me is the character customization. You can obtain DragonBall’s then use them to wish for moves from characters, then equip them on another character. Goku with Android 16’s Rocket Punch would look really…really funky. Would be even more funky if Goku would shout “ROCKET PUNCH!” when he performed it.
I’m sure there will probably be limitations to this feature though, it might be restricted to ki or ultimate type moves rather than melee special attacks, but then again ya never know. With the right combinations on the right character, there could be some seriously wicked combo potential here
Nvm. There was a game tournament at the CCAD (Columbus College of Arts & Design) a few weeks ago. Could’ve swore one of the guys said their username on here was Perfect Legend. They didn’t know about the depth of B3 (as you don’t seem to either) and they were “educated” a little about the game.
I doubt they would do what you have in mind, since it would be inconsistent with the rules of fusion in the story. Although Dragon Ball plays fast and loose with its own “logic” sometimes, it generally sticks to the important stuff. In order to fuse, the two characters have to have similar physiology and a similar battle power, or it won’t work.
Unless you’re talking about the potara fusion (the earrings). If memory serves, there weren’t any rules for those. But some of the combinations would be so outlandish, it seems like it would be pretty difficult to program in all the extra characters that would result.
Though there’s no reason there shouldn’t be a way to play as Gotenks or Vegetto or somebody like that.
Regarding the Cyborg Freeza, he’s actually right, at another forum a member told me that the Mecha Freeza of Super DBZ is somewhat different than the anime one (this Mecha Freeza has a bazooka and more stuff).
