it depends. sometimes, they do winner stays like 3s and other games.
All the japanese qualifiers were done the way HFX said, so it will be like that for SBO.
Winner stays is more for the 3V3 format.
never, there are prove online vids of 2v2 winner stays already. no needs to argue about it. SBO doesn’t really care about how you run your qualifers that much. you can run two tournaments to select 2 players if you want.
Fair enough, if some of these qualifiers (that I missed) were 2V2 winners. But as all of those I saw (even in the US and France) followed the other rule, I have the feeling it will be like that for the main tournament.

Tokdio and mago will go to this tournament. this is a 1v1 tournament. so either Tokido or mago wins this, they will be qualify for SBO(assume they wanted to be on the same team).

Tougeki doesn’t really care how exactly shit is done. From what I hear for the Chinese Blazblue qualifiers last year, the arcade owner just handpicked two players so that’s how Stunedge got a spot. Also I was informed from a friend a while back that myself and my teammates were listed in the guidebook even though it was a completely different set of players competing.

Word on the street is no money to go (sponsorships, etc). Excited for Henry to go, but I feel real bad for Dieminion; would’ve been great to see him play also.

Then again, first place in EVO is worth 5 digits while first place in SBO is worth only 3 digits, and it’s not like the Japanese players will want to money match those American players. So spending 4 digits to come over to Japan seems like a not so good use of money. I think a GodsGarden savings would make a lot more sense.
Mago and Tokido qualify. it was Mago qualified, but he picked tokido as his teammate.
Mago just won the Summer Battle tournament and chose Tokido as his partner so the final team besides the ones from the last chance qualifiers is
