Honestly, I couldn’t care less about Daigo presence or not. Whereas there were not that many Top level Ryus before, we’ll have our quota of very good Yuns (already have Kazunoko and MDR) in this tournament by a large margin.
Well, Mago hasn’t gone to qualifying yet either… you know what I’m getting at.
Mago and Tokido are very likely to team up…they almost always do. Don’t think we’re gonna see a mago - daigo team
2nd hand info from 2ch (lol), but SMOAI says that Sako, Tokido and Kindevu are all confirmed to not participate at SBO this year.

It’s actually at “Cool Tiger” (酷虎) arcade in Xidan. No one still seems to know the date.
I found this chinese article about the SBO qualifiers in china:
http://www.17utt.com/2011/0526/6442.html
Beijing looks like it’s going to be on 6/26. The English name appears to be “Coolhoo”?
Shanghai looks like it’s on 7/8. Here it says the location is at “中国国家馆” (China Pavilion - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/China_pavilion_at_Expo_2010 )
I think that was the date for last years SBO… I’m guessing that’s just a placeholder date. It seems odd they would do it on a Sunday. I might be wrong though.
The 3rd US SBO qualifier info was posted here:
Go to any major. A lot of top players will only play you for money, unless you know someone who knows them, good luck getting them to play you seriously without money being involved. Honestly from their perspective, they are amongst the best players in the world, and I’m sure everyone is trying to play against them. So you definitely have to have some money to play against them. There are actually a lot of skilled no name players at majors who will give you more experience too. So I’m not sure why people flock to “known” players that often. Some top players will play you without money, like Marn is known to do it. Justin Wong will play you for no money in one of his sessions, but you’ll move to the front of the line if you’re putting money on the table.
Does anyone have attendance numbers from last year’s SBO finals? Something tells me the organizers are making bank at the gate.
I was looking for this info the other day, and didn’t know it was here. Good work on this.
