Super Battle Opera 2009 DvD

I am all for supporting the community, but this is a little ridiculous.

They’re not making it easy for the US to get in on this and that’s kinda rude. I’d be happy to pay for access to these vids, but I am not going to jump through ANY hoops.

EVO makes it easy. SBO should be no different.

lol MrHumble. good one

What’s everyone bitching about? You should be happy that matches are even being recorded. The sense of entitlement here is appalling.

You should be happy theyre still giving spots to the US or other countries. Most times, they get raped first round but year after year, they still hand out spots.

There’s a shitstorm of videos available through youtube and many other resources available and you feel slighted they can’t make it easier for you to get a DVD in the US?

Yeah, fuck doing some work to get something from the other side of the world. Why isn’t this shit at blockbuster?!

If you really want to support the community, step up and buy 50 copies and sell them to US peeps at cost.

this!!!

Happens in pretty much every single DVD/media thread though. I don’t know why people feel the need to complain so much on message boards anyway, chances are those same people will be watching it on youtube later anyway.

Just glad I got to attend SBO in 07. It may not be around forever.

mrHumble has the most ironic name ever.

Japan is one of the most technologically advanced nations in the world. It’s not a stretch to expect them to be able to sell these vids online to the rest of the world in some manner. Plenty of sites offer premium services for a fee. They could set up a site, charge $15, and let us watch the vids. I don’t care if I can download them or not, I just wanna see what happened.

I am not demanding anything, and I have no sense of entitlement. I am simply disappointed that I will not be able to watch vids from SBO. I am also confused as to why they are not making it easy for the fighting game community (in the US and elsewhere) to experience SBO.

only in the useless gadget department.

their websites still look like 1996 with Netscape. they stream tourneys on shitty ass stickam.jp and have horrible forum formats etc.

they didn’t even reach Web 2.0 yet.

totally going to pick this up!

the ‘entitlement’ in this thread is the premise that people who do a poor job deserve praise for it anyway.

gods garden did a better job at coverage than legendary tougeki. competence is competence.

I only have the 3s DVDs but since 2004 they did contain all of the matches.

Tougeki is a huge multi-game tournament with 2 months of qualifiers, foreign travelers, a huge stadium hall + stage, a ridiculous last chance qualifier, and has a shitload of entrants.

Gods Garden was a random room the size of a diner restaurant with a pre-built stage, internet hook-ups, probably 1/8 the entrants and only included 1 game with the majority of the recorded matches pre-determined due to vote seeding.

Oversights are oversights?

edit: I’m going to open a company that streams videos where you can have people pay to watch the stream. It will be internationally accessible with easy sign-ups and high commission to create quick popularity. I will be a millionaire very shortly. /truestory
