It’s not a bad idea. It’s just not something I would pay for.
Keep in mind, if it was introduced, it would likely work like it did before. Reason being, imagine all the voicework that would have to be added to get all the different combinations, without sounding bad.
Keep in mind that there’s 50 characters in UMvC3. That’s 19,600 different possible teams, not counting sort order or assist types (50 choose 3). That’s 529,200 if you include assist types which is important here (each team combination has 27 possible combinations of assist types, so first number * 27). I don’t know how many assist types share supers, but for every character that only gets 2 supers in a THC, I think you’d subtract 21,168 from that number (All teams char is part of (which is diff 50choose3 and 49choose 3) at 3 assists - All teams char is part of at 2 assists). For characters with only 1 THC super, I think subtract 28,224 (All teams char is a part of at 3 assists - all teams char is a part of at 1 assist).
When you consider that for all those combinations you can get THC with 2 characters instead of 3, that’s another 50 choose 2 combinations of characters (1,225). Each team of 2 has 9 possible assist combinations, which means teams of 2 add another 11,025 combinations to your running total. I could figure how much to take away for teams of 2 where certain characters only have 1 or 2 THC supers, but I’ve already spent too much time thinking about this, and I think you get the idea.
That would be a lot of voice work if they wanted to do it well.
*EDIT: *forehead smack, only 48 characters, not 50… I’m not re-doing the math right now. Maybe later. Will start with, 17,296 possible teams, and 466,992 combinations if you consider assists This was wrong
EDIT: Hah, funny. It’s 50 after all. Thanks to the poster below. Just counted them on the select screen to confirm, this is correct then.
